"I wonder what he meant by 'be hurt by it?' Come to think of it, Hotaru said something similar..." Mikan recalled when Hotaru lectured her in the Northern Woods. Don't follow Mikan's terrible example of daydreaming during class.
"Class is so boring! I love takoyaki! Cock-a-doodle-doo!" Something exclaimed over Mikan's head, a chicken clock was hovering over her and flapping its wings rapidly. The class immediately turned towards her, and the math teacher stopped writing on the blackboard abruptly, breaking the piece of chalk.
"New Student. Do you have an objection as to how I teach my class?" He said through gritted teeth as some of the kids in the class started to snicker.
"N...No!" Mikan panicked, waving her arms around as the chicken clock nestled itself on her head, continuing to scream takoyaki repeatedly over her. "I'm not the one who's...! What's this thing even talking about?!" The chicken even described takoyaki's texture. "Geez, shut up! Be quiet already!"
Hearing Shouda and her possible sidekick being the only ones snickering had caught Emiko's attention. A trash bin was levitated in the air, making it even clearer on the culprit, Yuu even witnessed it. Emiko glanced at the students behind her, making eye contact with the same guy that had a shaved head, having a hand in the air using his Alice. She started to stare at him, making him extremely uncomfortable, not realizing that he dropped his hand back to the table.
"Mikan! Behind you!" Yuu warned, stopping Mikan from further struggling with the robotic chicken and convincing her to turn around to see the trash bin.
"Ah! Don't come this way!" Shutting her eyes, Mikan waited for the impact to happen. Another cliche had took place, which was that she didn't get the impact she was anticipating. After a few moments, Mikan opened her eyes and put her hands down from its self protection position. Blinking once, twice, and a few more times, Mikan hadn't noticed what happened to the trash bin.
Unlike everyone else, looking at the teacher with a trash bin head. She still hadn't noticed until the math teacher himself called her out. Mikan finally looked at the trash bin's location for one second and soon screamed in fear. "Did I accidentally use my Nullification Alice to deflect the telekinesis, and the trash along with it?!"
"...You've got some guts, New Student." Mikan flinched as he took the trash can off his head, a frog appearing on his shoulder. "You interrupted my class, and then used your alice while class is in session. I hear your Star Rank hasn't been decided yet? Now is our chance. I'll return the favor by deciding your Star Rank, right here, right now. Your rank is..." Nervously waiting for the bad punishment awaiting, it will not end well in Mikan's opinion. Shouda had a hand cover her mouth to hide her smile. It wasn't surprising. "...No Star!"
Shouda busted out laughing like some people in the class, while most of the other population in the class was in shock. "I can't believe it!"
Mikan was the mostly in despair, being white as a sheet as her classmates started whispering to each other again. "This is the first time someone's ever been ranked as a No Star in Class B! Even Class A only had one No Star in its entire history! In a way, that's amazing!"
"Mr. Jinno, are you sure it's alright to decide her Star Rank so easily?" Yuu asked, standing up for Mikan in both ways.
"Are you objecting?" Yuu flinched, shaking his head before slowly sitting back down in his seat. At least he tried. "New Student. I'll make sure to report your status at the next faculty meeting. That's it for today's class." With that, Jinno left the classroom, shutting the door behind him. Shouda started to laugh again, making Mikan look at her.
