Chapter 6
I sat on the couch at midnight beside Harry who was looking down at the floor dejectedly. I rubbed his back soothingly but he shrugged me off and started to pace around the common room.
I sighed. I felt really bad for him. Everyone in the school hated him. They all thought he was a cheat, they all thought he was scum. Hermione, Neville and I were the only ones who were nice to him. Even Ron his best friend was being a jerk to him. I could tell that really tore Harry up, but he acted like it was nothing. All in all, Harry was handeling it well. He just ignored the name callers and always told people that he didn't put his name in the cup. No one believed him though.
Classes were hard even for me. People didn't understand why I still hung out with Harry, they gave me grief for it. They didn't want to ignore me like they ignored Harry though, I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm likable, or scary... I mean, what person would try intentionally to make me mad? I'd beat their butts, and they know it.
The Slytherins were having a field day with the anti Harry thing. They made 'Potter Stinks' badges.
Every time I saw one I'd light it on fire... even if someone was wearing it. It earned me alot of glares... but at least less people were wearing them.
Harry had his first interview with Reeta Skeeter. Man I hated that woman. When Sirius first ran off she was all over our place asking obnoxious questions, finally the ministry stepped in and took all her notes away and said that the public couldn't know about us. So I knew about her.
The newspaper that had Harry's interview was sad. She had twisted around his words. Harry had sat down and ranted about it for at least an hour. People made fun of him for 'crying' during an interview. Sometimes I wish I could just drop a bomb on top of this school so it would shut up all the snide comments about Harry. I hate hearing mean things being said behind my best friends back.
All in all, this year was supposed to be fun for both of us. We understood each other. We both were excited about the tournament. But it changed when Harry became a contestant. We both have been having a horrible year.
We both had nightmares. We both knew my father was planning something to kill Harry and to get his body back. And to top it all off, people were being mean and obnoxious. Oh how I wish I were normal.
So here we both were. Harry and I had recieved a letter from Sirius saying he wanted to meet us in the Gryffindor common room at midnight on November 22.
He was late.
All of a sudden I saw Sirius's face in the hearth in the fire place.
" Harry!" I yell whispered.
Harry ran over to me where I bent over the fireplace.
" How are you Sirius! Are you ok? I miss you!" I said in a rush.
" I miss you too, but nevermind me, how are you?" Sirius asked seriously
"I've been better..." I said as I stared at Harry sympathetically.
" I'm... not ok." Harry said sadly.
I pat his back and this time he didn't shake me away.
Sirius looked at Harry and said " Tell me about it."
