Ed: “I don’t love you anymore,” he said. There was this stoney look to him, as if he was blocking out all emotions. Your heart cracks at his words, your ears ringing. Had you heard him right? No, you probably didn’t. The guy you loved would never tell you something like that. You had to be hearing things.
You released a shaky, confused laugh. “What’re you talking about? Don’t be silly,” you said, rolling your eyes. You reach forward to slap at his shoulder, but he quickly steps back and a look flashes across his face as if the thought of you touching him is revolting.
“You heard me,” he snorts. “I don’t love you anymore. Please leave me alone.” And like that, he swiftly turns around and walks off, leaving you standing in the cold.
It starts to rain, as if this moment couldn’t get any worst. With wet hair, soaked clothes and a broken heart, you start the long walk home.
