Marcie Otterman's Novel Chapter 40:

Virgo wasn't firmilar with this world and she wasn't planning on becoming known here as long as Lardium was in rule. She focused on one thing and one thing only: getting away from the aliens that took her. Of course it was going to be difficult since they were more powerful and advanced than her human self, but they were the hawk and she a mouse in a cornfield. They were geniuses where she was average. Nothing was on her side up till this point, and well she's here, away from them.
Virgo steps out of the cargo ship, tugging the ball cap further down her face as a shield from everyone's gazes. In the corner of her right eye she notices two men in fine black suits with dark sunglasses covering their eyes, talking up a storm to each other. They remind her of the Men In Black movies and that makes her smile, thinking of earth things. In the corner of her left eye, she sees greenery.Tall fake pine trees loomed above the clouds and birds that appear to be cutting effortlessly through the blue sky but really are not. She could feel her wind pipe beginning to close as the realization smacks into her like a brick wall. This was Edium. The planet that was wiped clean and re-done to look like earth for us humans.
She had to get out of here. This was the planet that humans would become experiments on, forced to start all over in time! At least that's what Lardium had told her and who knows if what he says is true. Virgo would not let herself become prisoner on this god forsaken made up earth and will absolutely not let herself go back to him. She had to make a decision and fast.
《"All crew members report back to the ship. Take off will happen in 10 seconds. 10... 9... 8... 7..."》
Virgo could go back to Lardium but she would lose her heart and dignity for the rest of her days, or she could stay amongst her own people that have been taken just like her but she would be trapped in the time humans had just evolved...
《"5... 4... 3..."》
The world became blurry as she tore towards the forestry edge, her legs pumping so fast she felt as if she was flying. So long Lardium.

END OF BOOK THREE IN THE EDIUM SERIES

I set down my pen and pressed the palms of my hands against my eyes. With a sigh, I glanced at the clock hanging above my desk. 5:02. I sat up in surprise at how late I went on writing. Tomorrow (but really today) I had to get up early for a meeting and brunch with my editor which was in... exactly five hours. Crap. Not fun.

I gathered myself up and slugged to my bedroom just when my phone begins to ring. My usual action when my phone rings is that I'd run to make sure I got it on time but, right now I'm just a groggy sloth who could care less about the person on the other end of the line. I snatch the non-stop ringing cell phone from the kitchen counter and press Answer.

"Hello?" I ask, leaning on the counter exausted.

"Oh thank god," I hear my friend Olivia mumble."I thought you weren't going to pick up there for a sec."

"I didn't think I was going to answer there for sec a too."

"Look something is wrong. I called Finn earlier tonight to see if he wanted to go out (her boyfriend) and he said I can't have work. But I know he doesn't work on Tuesdays and he also just sounded... blah."

I snicker silently to myself."Blah?"

"Okay yeah whatever, that's not the point here. I went out to the movies by myself when I see him and another chick after the movie ended, cuddling on a bench outside. Can you believe it?"

No, I did believe it. Olivia always chose to date the hot and sexy, self centered, guys because she always gets sucked into their romantic crap and how much they love her or something like that.

"Look Liv, he's a jerk and well a jerk like him doesn't deserve a hot and kind and awesome gal like you. Brake it off before he does. Show him your powerful just on your own, and hey, you have me."

I hear a sniffle in the background before she replies."Thanks M. Luv ya." Then she's gone.

Her and her guy drama. Don't get me wrong, I love Liv, but she can be oblivious sometimes.

I once again make my way to my room and flop on the bed right, immediately taken over by sleep.
