I was right. I won the battle. Today I was going to get Abby. She was an hour away, but it was worth it. When I got there, she was wearing a cute pair of black shorts with a white tees hid that had black polka dots on it which a black with white polka dot bow in her hair. She was six now. I felt so bad for her. She was riding in. An old beat up truck with no car seat. I waited for Dawson to let her out. He did, and I was happy. She ran over to me and screamed, "Mommy!!!!!! Dawson told me all about you! About how beautiful and kind you are. I love you and know I won't have to sleep on the floor with Dawson having a nice warm bed to sleep on. Because your a good parent. I'm six, by the way. My birthdays tomorrow. So technically I'm still five. But I'm so happy." She crossed he arms and said, "By Dawson, I know you tried hard. Thank you." She hugged hi and a tear slid down her cheek. That's when I knew she was faking. She might have been telling the truth about sleeping I the floor, but she loved him. And would miss him. Just then, she whispered. "I love you daddy. I'll come see you. I promise." It broke my heart, but I had to keep it together. He wasn't a good person. He hugged her and said, "I love you too, pumpkin. But I'll see you a lot. Okay? Jesse, can I put her in the car?" I nodded. He put her in, and saw my boyfriend in the front seat, and Hunter in the back. He hugged her one quick time, then kissed her forehead. He whispered something, and she nodded and smiled. He closed the door and asked, "So your married?"
I shook my head. "No, he's my boyfriend. And the kid is Hunter, our son. Don't worry, you'll get to see Abby. I promise. I got in the car and left. When we got home, it was almost midnight. We had left at bout nine o'clock, and so it was eleven fifty eight. I had already got Abby's room set up. She was going to her first day I school the day after next. I put her in bed, and kissed her goodnight. I told her I loved her, and turned on her night light. I walked out. I left the door cracked, and I stopped when I heard her little voice.
"Now I lay me, down to sleep, I pray The Lord my soul to keep. I I should die, before I wake, I pray The Lord, my soul to take god bless everybody I know, and everybody I know and vey body I don't know, and thank you for letting me meet my mommy. I'm so excited for church tomorrow. Love you, amen." A tear slid down my cheek. I went and hopped in the shower so we could go to church the next morning. Then, I went to bed.
