Before we start with this story, my name is Aria. I live in Minnesota, and I'm a high school student. I was normal, until one day, a stranger helped me realize how special and unique I am.
I glance into my closet to get ready for a day of shopping. Of course, it was with my mother. This was her idea of 'mother-daughter bonding.' I quickly slip on ripped, dark blue jeans, a flowing, white tank top, and some gray sneakers. I run down the steps and plopped myself on the couch, waiting for my mother to get ready. When my mother finally came downstairs after about 30 minutes, we rode to the mall in a not-so-special car.
The trip was gruesome. Traffic was especially bad today, and I groaned at least 10 times throughout the trip. My eyes were flitting around, and I was extremely bored with nothing to do. What a bad start to a 'bonding' session.
The two of us finally arrive at the mall, and I let out a sigh of relief once I step inside. Instead of bonding together, somehow the both of us split up. I screamed of joy inside, I disliked my mother sometimes. Soon enough, my stomach growled and demanded that I consume delicious, warm food. So, with the leftover money I had, I sauntered to the food court.
At the food court, my bright, blue eyes wandered from one option, to the other. I finally decided on Subway, and waited in the winding line. Well, this would take a while. As soon as I got to the front, I spit out my order and spread dollar bills and coins out, making sure that I had enough for what I wanted. I sat down at a completely empty table.
Here, my eyes now gravitated to this especially adorable and attractive male. I studied his features, and came to the conclusion that his looks were perfection. I just admired him, but quickly snapped back into reality and turned away. But, this random stranger I had laid eyes on had spotted me, and I just knew he was coming for me. What would I do?
I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I immediately turned to face the stranger with a shy smile. 'Hey, I'm Connor.' he said, staring at me with his beautiful blue-green eyes. I just wanted to spontaneously kiss Connor right there and then, but I held myself back.
My heart pounded. Never before had I been in this situation. I was just that one girl that no one knew about.
'Um, my name is Aria.' I say quietly and shyly, avoiding any eye contact.. Connor sits beside me.
'Well, that's a pretty name you have there.' Connor says, with a reassuring smile that gets me out of the gutter.
My eyes dart around. Connor's tone of voice really makes me feel special in some way. 'Thanks.' I mumble shyly, fiddling with my fingers. I hear the faint sound of my mother and my eyes widen. 'Um, sorry, but I've gotta head off, my mother's calling me so we can head out.'
'Well, it's nice meeting you Aria.' Connor says with a gentle smile, like he's known me for so long. 'No number?' He says with a smirk.
I roll my eyes with a shy smile. I grabbed a napkin and I dug in my bag for a pen. I pulled one out, scribbling my number on it, and I slid it to him and ran off, giving a quick wave and a friendly, yet shy smile. As I hesitantly ran to join my mom, I let out a soft sigh. How did I even survive the run-in with this perfect human being? I jumped in the car, my mother driving through many streets to get back home. Even more traffic, it must be rush hour.
But, along the way I just replayed that moment multiple times. 'Connor...' I unnoticeably muttered to myself. Who was Connor...?
