Right when I had awoken, I knew what would be happening today. I needed to get ready for it, mentally.
Once last period ends, I let out a sigh. A sigh of frustration that is. I walk slowly down to the park, my eyes wandering. I finally arrive and find Connor with a weak smile.
'So where's this quiet, serene place you were talking about?' Connor asks curiously.
'Just follow me.' I mutter quietly as I head off in search of my quiet spot.
I finally stumble across the hidden entrance to my natural, serene clearing blocked off with a bunch of thick foliage. I take a deep breath to breathe the fresh air and sit on the soft grass, a smile forming on my face. Connor takes a seat next to me, inching closer and closer.
'This place is surely amazing.' Connor says in awe. 'I can't believe I didn't know about this place. I must grab my camera and take pictures sometime.'
'It's the perfect place to be? Isn't it?' I say with a smile. But, I soon remember why we're here. My smile diminishes and turns into a slight pout. 'So, what did you drag me here for? What did you want to speak to me about?' I say, turning to face him with a serious expression.
'Um...' Connor plays with his hair. 'So, you know that Alexis is my ex-girlfriend, but she still has feelings for me, right? I do like her, a tiny bit. But, the thing is, I have stronger feelings for someone else.' He says. I purse my lips, glaring at him in jealousy.
'And who is this?' I say, revealing my nosy side. I almost hold back from asking the question, but it's the time to let all my emotions out.
'You...' Connor whispers. He avoids eye contact with me, but soon our eyes meet once again. With a puzzled expression, I wonder if I'm daydreaming. 'I've had feelings for you for the start, but I knew Alexis would get in the way. One day, I thought Alexis was cute, and we dated for a few months. That's over. Now, I just know that you're the one for me.' Connor says with a hint of seriousness, but a smile spreads across his adorable face.
'Really? Well, I have feelings for you as well.' I blush as I let the sentence out. My heart pounds quickly, quicker than a cheetah hunting prey.
We both inch closer to each other, just a bit. 'Although I never thought that...' I begin my sentence, but get cut off with a passionate kiss. It's like every single perfect moment at the beginning of a relationship in the movies, except this is in reality.
'Ahem.' As I hear someone clearing their throat, I pull away to see.... Alexis. I groan, rolling my eyes. Why can't I just have a normal love life?
'Do you mind?' I say, glaring at her cake face and slim body. The girl of any guy's dreams. 'We're having a private conversation.' I say, making direct eye contact. 'And I'd like some actual PRIVACY!' Connor lets out a sigh of frustration, obviously aggravated because of Alexis. Alexis completely ruined the perfect moment that was that kiss.
'What did I tell you about staying away from my honey bear?!' Alexis says in an extremely high-pitched voice. How many nicknames did Alexis have for Connor?
'And what did I reply back with?' I say, standing up and brushing off pieces of grass. I'm not scared of this fragile piece of bull, especially when I'm probably 10x stronger than her.
'Alexis, I don't have feelings for you anymore. I've told you this a million times. Move on, find someone else. I'm sure you can, there are so many guys chasing you.' Connor says calmly, staring at the bright green grass.
'I will get what I want, and if I dont, Daddy will buy it for me.' Alexis says, sounding like a typical spoiled brat.
'You can't buy love, you realize that right?' I say with a hint of frustration. 'And you can't get whatever you want, at least not all the time.'
'Ugh! You'll see, and you'll regret ever turning me down Connor!' Alexis says with tears glistening in her eyes. She runs off, through everyone in the park.
I plop myself back down on the grass and groan once more. Something always has to go wrong, doesn't it? Tears of stress and frustration crowd my eyes, even after seeing tears almost drop from her eyes. Connor immediately comes to the rescue, comforting me with hugs of warmth and love. I pull away as I wipe a few tears from my eyes.
'Is everything alright sweetheart?' Connor asks with his concerned, yet gentle eyes. I nod slowly, letting the nickname pass by. I decided to ignore all eye contact, for now at least. 'I guess so.' I say with a weak smile. It was one of those moments in which I was lying, or at least telling half of the truth.
'Let me take you to my place, to see if I can cheer you up.' Connor offers with a reassuring smile.
I look up at Connor. 'Why not?' I say quietly, accepting the offer. I was still completely stressed out all because of Alexis and her ways. Connor takes my hand and pulls me up to my feet. He slides his arm around me, pulling me close. I enjoy the comfort and warmth of his arm around myself. The both of us walk down the street, holding hands, to Connor's house. I watch Alexis stomp off into the other direction, looking over her shoulder to glare at me. I quietly snicker at her glares. I look back, with a mischevious smile.
Soon enough, Connor and me arrive at his apartment. I liked the comfort of his apartment, and how it fit his personality. Anyways, Connor and me finally had a moment where we were alone, and no one was able to ruin any moment in this secluded place reserved for only the both of us. What happened? Well, that's for another time.
