What the hell was Jay talking about? why didnt he want me taking to Derrick? i decied to call him and ask him i stepped outside to our backyard and called him not wanting anybody to hear our converstaion he already knew what i was going to say so once he answered he said he'll be over in a little bit and hung up
After awhile Jay arrived and spoke to my mom as usual and then came outside and found me sitting with my dog Max, he sat down beside me he began explaining himself
"Bree i didnt want u talking to Derrick because hes in a gang called The Scorpians an he is no good for u every girl they talked to or dated either injured themselves because they couldnt escpae or the lucky ones found somewhere to go and was never seen again Bre he isnt the guy u think he is please end this with him while u can"
i looked up at Jay and saw he had a serious look on his we usually play around and joke all the time but this time it wasnt a laughing matter. i didnt believe what he said Derrick looked nothing like a gang memeber and i know he wouldnt do that to any girls he talked to, maybe jay was lying but why would he say something like that, yes i had a lil crush on him and he had a lil crush on me but we would never make up stories about someone we was talking to we were stronger than that

"Bre come on now everybody knows this, he joined this summer"
i looked down thinking of what to say next but nothing came to mind thats when i felt his arms wrap around me, i hugged him back not wanting to let go of his strong arms i didnt know what it was but i always felt protected around him.
He then stood me up and said he had to go. When he left i called Derrick i needed to talk to him immediatley.
"hello"
"derrick uhm can u meet me somewhere later on tonight?"
"uh yea sure wasssup"
"we need to talk meet me at the park at 10:00"
"aight shawty"
i laughed then hung up the phone trying not to sound depressed. When i was getting ready to sit back down i was interupted by my mother screaming my name, i ran in the kitchen scared to hear or see what happend ....
"YES MAAM"
" time to eat" she said smiling
"really ma"
"Aha child go wash up we dont want u bringing dirt to the table"
I laughed then ran up stairs and put my phone on the charger and went to wash up. When i finished i saw that i had 3 unread messages but i decided to check them later. I locked my phone then ran down stairs ready to eat. When i actually looked in the kitchen i saw pork chops,mac n cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken, and rolls "thank the lord" i said clappin.
As soon i sat down we were about to start the prayer,but then pops walked through the door rapping to Drake.
"Boy go wash up dont try to come to this table after you done just got through working, dirty ass"
he walked over and kissed my mama even though she tried to resist it and then ran up stairs and washed up.
"so we gone wait for the whole neighborhood to wash up huh" my brother said laughing
"watch ya mouth son you aint to old to be beat"
After that my dad came down stairs and sat down trying to eat but then stopped, i guess he remebered we had to pray first. He said a quick prayer then we all dived into the food. After we finished eating my dad picked up the plates and put them in the dishwasher as my mama went to lay on the couch, and my brother went outside to drive to his girlfriend Brittany's house he went there to watch after her little sister and her. I ran up stairs and checked my phone and saw i had a messgae from Tiana
*heyyy baaaby, sorry i didnt txt u and let u know i wasnt coming to school today, who the fuck goes to school on the first 2 days anyway, but im not going to be there for a few days grams was up in the hospital and we have to stay with her and make sure she alright text me back and let me know everything that happened today *
right away i layed down and called her when she answered i was so excited to tell her about Derrick and the boys i got the numbers from, interupted by a call i told tiana to hold on
"hello"

"oh shit im sorry Derrick i forgot" i said laughing

I totally forgot about the derrick ,time goes by fast! i put on my slides completing my outfit and grabbed my phone and walked down stairs. I stopped when i saw my parents sleep on the couch. I decided to go out the back , opening and closing the door slowly. when i got outside i walked out the gate locking it behind me, and headed to the park which was behind my neighbors neighbors house.
When i got there Derrick ran up to me and swung me around happy to see me. After spinning for like 15 seconds he finally put me down. He then grabbed my hand and walked us over to the swings and sat down next to me
"Derrick i heard something about u and i want to know if that shit true"

"I heard that your apart of the scorpians and u treat the girls u dated or talked to wrong, causing them to injure themselves because they cant escape from you and your gang"
"Yes i am apart of the scorpians i just joined this Summer and i havent been with a girl since a joined the scorpians yes i talked to a couple but it wasnt anything serious"
"You know this changes everything"
"no this changes nothing im still the same person the only reason i joined was cause my daddy was in it before he died and i need to take care of my mom and my little sister and my brother, "

after he said that we sat there in silence until he came over by me and grabbed my hands as i stood up he looked me in my eyes and placed his hands on his my lower back pulling me close to them so i had no choice but to wrap my arms around his neck , thats when he whispered in my ear

i chuckled trying no to show any emotions.
"please dont let this change anything"

He hugged me tighter but it felt so good in his arms thats when i thought about Jay dammit what would he say if he found out about me and Derrick would he end our friendship over something like this more importantly what would he do to Derrick
