Prince Hydrak of Watersoul (above)(not mine)

Laura and her son Jaedin were the first to stumble upon the cave that would change their lives forever. Like any mother who had just found a dragon, she pulled her son behind her and cautiously stepped forward. "Mom, is that thing real?". Jaedin asks in a hushed voice. "I don't  know Jae, hush". As Laura took a step she did not watch where her foot was and it landed on a  stick, which snapped, causing the sound to echo throughout the cave. The dragon cracked open an eye at the sound that had invaded his slumber. Realizing they were in danger Laura ushered her son back towards the mouth of the cave. The dragon noticed the movement and turned his head inquisitively. He was mostly concerned with the well being of his family, his mother, father and younger sister. He stood up slowly which caused Laura to stumble backwards and fall at Jaedins feet.

"Mom! Are you o.k?" He asks, concern surrounding his voice. Laura winced and looked at her hand that was bleeding from the sharp rocks that littered the ground. Hydrak sensed the panic and took a cautious step forward and lowered his head to where he was inches from the frightened humans. Laura and her son closed their eyes, sure they were to become the beasts next meal.  The feeling of a wet muscle on her palm startled her as she opened her eyes to see that the dragon had licked her hand. Confused she raised an eyebrow, she made eye contact with him and he looked down at her hand, motioning for her eyes to follow. Laura gasped at the sight she was met with. Her hand was healing, the cut that had stretched about two inches of her palm was slowly shrinking in size under the thick coat of saliva until it was gone, leaving a faint scar. She looked up at the dragon once again in astonishment, only to have to moment interrupted by her astounded son. "Holy crap it's Puff the magic dragon". Laura almost smacked her son upside the head but was caught off guard by a new voice. "I do not know this Puff of who you speak but I am Prince Hydrak of Watersoul".

Jaedin almost lost his voice from shock. "I mean you no harm humans, in fact it would seem I am in need of your help. Where is the nearest Dragon Kingdom?". Neither of them spoke. "Have I been mistaken in identifying your language? I believe I heard you speak English".  "We do. It's just....Dragons don't exist, or at least til now".  "How long have I slept? What year is this?". He asks, growing worried. "It's 2016".  Hydrak took a deep breathe and let it out with a sad expression. "I was put under this spell a thousand years ago, to save my kingdom surely I am not the last of my kind". Jaedin stepped forward and looked up at Hydrak. "We can help you. I don't know how but we can help". Hydrak smiles and bumps foreheads with the young human. "Thank you human". He sighs raising his head. "First thing's first we need to get out of this cave, I sense it will collapse soon". Jaedin and Laura looked around before agreeing. "Ok, but I don't know how you're gonna fit in the truck... You're too big". Hydrak took a few deep breaths and the once 8 foot dragon was now a mere 2 feet tall. "Ha. You're like a little puppy now".  Jaedin joked. "We can hide him in the truck bed, I think there may be a tarp still back there". Laura was already walking back to the mouth of the cave. They get situated luckily without any witnesses, and drive home.

As they carried Hydrak into the house still wrapped in the tarp they were stopped by their way-too-friendly neighbor. "Oh hi Laura, how have you been lately? Haven't seen 'round the gym for a while everything o.k?". Laura sighed in frustration and faked a smile. "Hey Cindy, I'm fine just been real busy with work, gotta go now have a nice day". With that they hurried into the house and shut and locked the door. Time to figure out what to do now but first, dinner. In the house of the happy-go-lucky Cindy, were hushed voices. "I saw the tail from under the tarp. It has to be him. They were at the same location of his disappearance, The timing, the earthquake. The chances of all this being a coincidence are slim Howard. Inform the Queen...her son has been found".
