On the deserted roads of Edo, a cloaked lady in corset and leather walked. The clank of metal rang out as she walked. The many small knives that hung from her belt sounded like a soft chime with each sway of the hips. Strapped to her thighs were two mid-thigh length daggers and one recently developed weapon.

A gun.

A Colt single action army.

It had been recently imported from the Americas, and was sent supposedly to help with expanding the Japanese economy. When really it was imported to obtain the upper hand in the ongoing wars between the shinsengumi, Choushuu and the Satsuma.

The muffled murmurs were heard from around the corner as she passed another darkened road. But with each murmur she had a nagging sense of curiosity as she continued to move on. The sounds of voices so soft filled her with a form of excitement. It'd been a while since she'd heard the sound of soft voices, it reminded her of the two boys she had left behind to guard over a warrior. Their faces flashed over in her mind.

First of the boy with brown hair, fair skin and the calmest green sea eyes. His nature was always that of a neutral person even protective, but calculated, and a quick thinker. Under all the calm and calculatedness was an undercurrent of a rage driven warrior.

She'd only seen the boy give into his rage once but that had been a dark and dangerous time for all.

The second one was a different story. Black straight as a pin hair cut very close to his head, foggy gray cat slit eyes. His skin was a bit darker than most. The boy's nature was usually observant, loyal, protective, and relaxed. But when in the heat of a battle, he craved bloodshed and violence.

The flashes of their faces brought a sad smile to her lips. All three boys were bound to be furious with her and she was sure to get an earful when they next met.

That very thought brought on a large smirk to the woman's face. She snickered at first, putting a gloved hand on her mouth to block the sound, but it soon evolved into loud on caring laughter that had her clutching her side with ach.

"Beautiful," the laughter ceased not even seconds later, and the woman reacted fast with throwing a small knife from her belt at the person who stood behind her. As her cloak settled from being thrown back, a tall red haired man caught sight of the woman's weaponry, along with her lack of traditional wear.

A gun shot rang in the air at the same time the sound of a bullet hitting metal sung.

"Is that really a way to repay a man for giving a complement?" the man with the gun said.

The woman merely tilted her head to the side examined both man before smirking. Lifting her chin defiance, she spits at their feet and with a flick of her cloak she walks away, giving them her back.

The man with the gun grinds his teeth together at the amount of disrespect that woman had just given him. He usually had the aura that demanded respect and when it wasn't give someone would usually end up with a bullet in the head or would be about to piss themselves.

Unable to hold his rage any longer, he raised the gun at the woman's back, cocked the gun and was about to pull the trigger, when his companion put a hand on his arm.

"I would advise you not to point that at that woman, unless you wish to start another war," his companion warned him while eyeing the woman's retreating figure.

"Why not?! That whore deserves this bullet for disrespecting me!" he shouted at his companion.

The atmosphere after the word whore, turned cold. The temperature dropped a few degrees, and the outside shine grew dim. Everything stilled and this all happened as one of the men continued to yell at the other.
