I grinned and twirled around my small, white room with careful balance. I heard the nurse watching us tell me to sit down and rest, but I don't listen. I don't like her. She is very mean. She keeps trying to make me give up being a ballerina.
Before my mother and father died, they would take me to dance lessons every week. Mother would always film me. She knew I would be a star.
The nurse grabbed my arm and forced me down onto the bed.
"Stay still. Stay seated."
"I don't want to!"
"I don't care."
I stared out the window and pretended I was dancing. I am dancing.
