"I love you, (Y/N)," and before I could understand what was happening, Shadow had pressed his lips against mine. My eyes widened with surprise, but soon closed as I slowly kissed back. His lips were so soft against mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he gently put his hands on my waist.
Just as the kiss was getting more and more forceful, we pulled away for air. We gazed into each other's eyes for a long moment. "I-I love you too, Shadow." Suddenly, pain shot through my arm like fire and I howled in agony. We looked down to see none other than Lacey, who's gun had smoke coming out of it.
"Gotcha," she said withe a smirk. Shadow helped me down to the ground. "You okay?" he asked with a worried expression. "Y-Yeah, thanks," I replied. Another gunshot was fired, this time at my leg. I gave an anguished scream and fell into Shadow's arms. My vision started to blur and I blacked out.
Shadow's POV
(Y/N) fell into my arms and I watched as her eyes closed. Tears formed in my eyes. I blinked them away and gave Lacey a meaningful death glare.

She sweatdropped and laughed nervously, "Hehe... uh, I think I hear my mom calling, gotta go! See ya!" She took off running. I grabbed some nearby vines and shouted, "Oh no you don't!" and I threw the vines at her, tying her to a tree.
She struggled to get free, but I wasn't worried about her; I was worried about (Y/N), who didn't open her eyes and wasn't moving. I left Lacey to scream in the forest, while I rushed out to the hospital. I got there and told them what happened. They pulled out a stretcher and set her on it, while I quickly called the others.
They all gave the same response: "WHAT?!" They got here in a matter of minutes, the girls with tears in their eyes and the guys asking 101 questions. Sonic was the most freaked out of all of them. He looked like he was gonna burst into tears. I felt the exact same way.
Time Skip
The doctor came in a few minutes later. "Visitors for (Y/N) the hedgehog?" We all stood up. "Good news, kids. (Y/N) is okay, we've patched up her scratches and healed the parts where she was shot (sorry, I have no idea how to talk like a doctor). You can visit her now. She's awake, but be careful, she has lost a lot of blood, so don't be too rough if you hug her." We entered her room and everyone smothered her with gentle hugs.
"(Y/N)!"
"Oh thank goodness!"
"We were so worried!"
"Glad you're okay."
"Never do that to us again!"
"My sister's alive!"
Only I gave her a silent hug. But inside, I was bursting with joy at the fact that the love of my life is okay.
