I hop into the car three seconds before Sarah, but only because she has to stuff my bag into the backseat of her Blue Motion Golf.
"I am the champion,

Of the woooooooooooorld!" I sing, loudly but still sing, in her face.
"Hey Mary, you should sing more. I love your voice, it's so pure and natural yet sweet and loud and the same time." Sarah compliments.
"Um, thanks?" I ask her cautiously. "But Sarzy, you're the one who tried out for X-Factor! How did that go? I forgot to ask."
"Oh, yeah, I, um, well, I uh, forgot to, um, tell you, that I uh." She stumbles with her words and I wonder what could have gone so wrong.
"Sarah Jane Crosford, you know that you can tell me anything. Don't you?" I reassure her.
"Of course I know that. But, well, honey." She starts with a small voice.
"No way," I say "I will not be known as honey. You remind me so much of Lucinda when you say that."
Lucinda was the school slut and bully. She was head girl in Year Twelve and the main school captain in Grade Six. I, unfortunately was best friends with her before primary school and until Prep. All within that Prep year;
She became a bully
I became a loner
I became a victim
And I became I became interested in reading by myself.
"Of course I do," Sarah says, snapping me back to reality. "You know that you have to forget about her," She lowers her voice, "Especially since, you know what."
"Okay!" A throw my hands up in surrender "I know. You have to forget too, that's why we're moving, isn't it?"
"I know," she whispers, her eyes watering.
"So!" I break the awkwardness, "How did X-Factor go?
