Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a prince. The prince was to choose a bride soon, but the he did not want to marry. He simply wanted time to go to a regular school and have friends. His only friend was his attendant/assistant. He constantly tried to impress his very busy father, the King, with no luck. Due to the absence of his father all the time, Natalie, one of the royal servants would usually take care of him.
But since the prince's father never seemed to care much about him, when the king was out on trips to distant kingdoms to make trade plans, the prince would sneak out and play with his attendant ─ even if it was only for a little before Natalie noticed he was gone. The prince often wondered when the day would come when he would rule, and often thought about the proclamations he'd make. They'll be nothing like fathers! He'd think, every night, before drifting off to bed.

Not far from the palace lived a young girl in the village. As the baker's daughter, she lived in a small house that doubled as a bakery, and she loved it there.
Her parents were off at the palace preparing desserts for the masquerade, leaving the girl to run the bakery.
To surprise her parents and earn more money, she became an assistant to the cook over at the Bourgeois mansion.
Though the girl was treated poorly by Monsieur Bourgeois's daughters, Chloe and Lila, she still carried through being kind and loving. She secretly admired the Prince just as many girls in the village did, although refused to admit it. She hoped one day, she would get her happy ending, just as her beloved family had always told her she would.
I am sooo sorry I haven't updated in what feels like FOREVER. Man, school is such a pain. I plan on updating a lot more, maybe every day, I hope!
I know I changed this story a lot from the original idea, which was a classic Cinderella story with Chloe and Lila as the "evil stepsisters".
Anyway, I do hope the changes aren't too confusing for those of you who have been with this story since the start - thank you all for not abandoning it!I love you all, and be prepared for more updates!
