Summoning Satan

I lit the candles one by one, the fire's heat tickling my skin. I looked around my cold small bedroom before I started to draw the pentagram with chalk on my hardwood floor. After I finished, I released the breath I didn't realize I was holding in while I was drawing, and I began to read the words off the page as if I were in a trance. Never truly taking in the words I read, saying them quiet enough just in case my father came home from his late shift. Once there were no more words for me to say I took in my surroundings, nothing had changed so, I sat there too scared to move in case the spell would be ruined.

After 5 minuets of waiting I realized I was stupid enough to believe that I could actually make a deal with Satan, he probably doesn't even exist. I was so lost in my own thoughts that I didn't realize that the candles I had just lit started to flicker as if there was a slight breeze in my room. A loud crash ripped me out of my thoughts, and when I looked up I saw a man that I didn't know, he had dark black hair that was styled perfectly and was tall and slightly slender. How did he get into my house?!

Laughing at my expense the mystery man answered the question I apparently said out loud. "Well Malerie Elizabeth Quinn, you did just summon me."

And with that said everything fell into place, the way his black eyes seemed lifeless, and the way his deep menacing voice made me squirm in fear.

"Y-you're S-Satan?" I said nervously.

"That I am Malerie, so let's make this quick, what do you need?" He stated through gritted teeth obviously annoyed that I'm wasting his time.

"Well, ummm I want to, to make a d-deal, I want my soulmate." I proposed, not sounding so convincing, but can you really blame me Satan is standing no more than 10 feet away from me.

"Hmmm interesting, let's see what I can do." He started, fishing a worn leather planner out of his pocket. "A-ha I found the perfect thing for you to do! So, you will be sent back in time to the 1920's to rescue a man who has been stuck there for a while now."

My mouth gaped at the words that just came out of his mouth, how am I supposed to save an old, crippled man that is stuck back in time.

"Close your mouth Mal or you will catch a fly." Satan teased, before continuing explaining. "His name is Wyatt, he doesn't remember anything from before, he just knows he doesn't belong, making him severely depressed. You will need to cure his depression and slowly he will start to recover his memories. Oh also you only have 50 days to do this, on August 2nd you will need to meet me under the full moon in time square. Once you do this, Wyatt will have all of his memories returned and you both will be sent back to present time, and in exchange for your you will receive your soul mate." He finished, not looking even slightly out of breath after his long winded speech.

"W-what happens if I fail to cure his depression by August 2nd?" I questioned so quietly I thought he wouldn't have heard, but sure enough he did.

"You will face the same fate as Wyatt, you will be stranded in the year 1925." Satan said with a slight smirk as he watched my face drop drastically.

How am I going to accomplish this task, I would be foolish if I said no but I would be crazy if I said yes. Then I thought about never meeting my true love and my mouth spoke before I could stop it.

"Yes" I answered with a newfound confidence. "I will go." I just hope I can make it back I thought.

"Okay Malerie, have fun treading in these tricky waters." Satan replied with a frightening smirk, making me look down in fear.

When I finally got the courage to look back up I yelped in surprise when I saw that Satan was standing much closer to me now, and his arm was extended about ready to touch me. Once his calloused, freezing fingers touched my forehead everything went dark.

The last thing I remember was a cold blackness surrounding me like a suffocating blanket, and a feeling like I was falling to my death.
