James's Sketch Book chapter 1
The last few minutes of Transfiguration class dragged on. Come on, James thought, just a few more minutes. He wanted to finish up his drawing before the class ended. How else would he get Lily to pose like that again? The way her hair fell over her shoulder and that look of serenity on her face as she read a book after doing their assignment.
How he loved to look at Lily and be able to draw such a beautiful girl as her, though his drawings could never compare to how she looked in real life.
The bell rang and James groaned inwardly. He had not finished the drawing and it had been his best so far of Lily. It was kind of hard to draw when he kept on getting turned on being around her. It was easier to draw Sirius or Remus when they were doing something than to draw Lily.
"What's the matter, Prongs?" Sirius asked.
"Let me guess, he didn't finish his picture of Lily," Remus concluded wryly, looking at James's sketchbook in his hand.
"How did you know?" James asked, sarcastically rolling his eyes.
"Well, when you were staring at her for about fifteen minutes with your pen and sketchbook out I just figured and since you look so pissed it must be an 'unfinished masterpiece' now," Remus explained.
"Damn you, Moony, couldn't you tell I was being sarcastic," James said. "Hey, Snivy, what are you doing?"
Snape rolled his eyes and continued to walk by the foursome, not paying them any attention.
"Hey, Snivy, when I talk to you I expect you to listen, you bastard," snarled James.
"Foul language, Potter, that is uncalled for," Snape spat, taking out his wand.
"Why don't you put that damned thing away, or I'll have to teach you a lesson.?" James asked.
"I don't need any lessons from you," he snarled.
"Not nice, then..." chuckled Sirius.
"Stay out of this, Black or I'll-"
"You'll do what? Take out your precious chemistry set?" Sirius laughed loudly. "I'm terrified..."
"Better watch out," joked James.
"Yeah, you better..." muttered Snape, beginning to walk away.
"Why were you looking at Lily?" asked Sirius.
"Didn't we-" began James.
Snape froze and turned around. "I wasn't."
"You were."
"I er-"
"You're a pervert, Sniv." concluded Sirius as Snape strode away muttering curses under his breath.
"That's out of line," said Remus.
"I was just saying-"
"Don't make me give you a detention, Sirius," threatened Remus.
Glaring at Remus, Sirius scowled. Looking away, he watched a black haired girl talk to Lily. Evans laughed and then began to walk, still in conversation with the slightly taller girl.
"Come on, Padfoot," murmured James. "Let's get out of here."
Half heartedly, he began to follow Peter and Remus up to the Gryffindor tower for their free period. Before he could leave the classroom, however, Lily came up to him with a the girl.
