Never Make A Promise

Hey.

My name is Domanique, but most call me Dom, or Domani. I'm 17 and in, basically, a gang. I don't want to be in it anymore. I actually never wanted to be in it. But hey... Things happen. So now I'm stuck. But I'm trying my best to get out of it.

My brother and best friend in the whole wide world, Camran, died in a shoot-out at a local club. Worse night of my life. My mom is usually at work trying to support the family and my dad is in jail.
My best friends are Janelle and Justin. There's this boy named Cee Jay who is just a pure pain! I can't stand him! He's always bothering me and it just gets annoying.

But then there's this boy who is so nice to me. I like him so much! But Cee Jay is in the way of everything! It's like he has me on lockdown and doesn't want me to live my own life. I need help.

Janelle is eighteen. So is Justin. Camran was twenty-two when he died and Cee Jay is twenty-three now.
