Annabeth awoke screaming. She had been having another one of her dreams, but this was the worst. Being forced to see Percy being ripped to pieces, screaming for her to help while she helplessly watched in horror.
She wanted to run and see if he was ok, but her legs refused to move. Percy's screams echoed in her ears, torturing her. Covering her ears, annabeth started to sob. She sobbed so loudly, everyone on the Argo woke up. Annabeth heard footsteps coming towards her room, but she didn't stop. The footsteps got louder, and Annabeth sobbed harder.
As her door opened, Annabeth looked up. Her vision was blurry, but she could make out Percy's figure.She wiped her eyes and forced herself to smile at him. He came over and wrapped his arms around her, trying to comfort her.
"What's wrong?" Annabeth started crying again, forcing herself to tell him about her dream.
When she was done, Percy held her closer and softly sang to her.
"When you'd cry I'd
wipe away all of your tears.
When you'd scream I'd
fight away all of your fears"
Exhaustion overtook her, and she fell asleep in Percy's arms.
