Pausing for a moment and letting the words sink into his disturbed mind, fist still clenched and pulled back tightly to his shoulder ready to release a fatal blow into his wife's face. Andy comtemplated his next move, the undying urge to hit her time and time again until there was nothing left but pulp squashed beneath his fist, contradicted with the want to let her live and save his unborn child. He could not even be sure if she was telling the truth or merely creating an elaborate lie to spare a further bombardment of punches, his fist flinched as he tried to recall the last time the pair of them had sex and looking into Mel's eyes he could see the fear inside of her. Thinking back it could be quite possible she was telling the truth, he hadn't seen her touch a drop of alcohol in the past few weeks and her face was somewhat blossomed with a maternal glow. Still raging from the burning coffee which stripped his face of skin, he was only trying to talk to her and calm her down. Explain the truth to prove he wasn't the monster she saw before her, how could she act out like this. Why would she attack someone so violently, she deserved to be punished. Made an example out of so no one else would ever attempt to cause him pain like that again. His bicep tensed followed by a chain reaction as his whole arm tightened ready to strike, fist throbbing with adrenaline and the urge to unleash an almighty pain. Mel closed her eyes in fear and without a seconds thought his fist began to pull forward, accompanied with lethal strength following his large trembling fist and striking hard into the ward door behind Mel. He had bottled it and shown his weakness. His demons although very much in control could still not override his compassion towards his family, Mel would be grateful of his lenience towards her and that of their unborn child. She couldn't be mad, he had spared her life at the cost of further torture from his tormentors. A gruelling agonising punishment for not completing his task and returning Mel to her discomforted son desperate for his mother's touch. As her eyes looked up opening wide with the realisation that he had missed her head by a single hair, she pushed hard on his chest throwing him backwards. Shaking violently with fear she screamed for help at the top of her lungs, shrieking like a banshee with ear bursting pitch. Within seconds the door handle started racheting and thuds agaisnt the door warned Andy of his impending capture, he pushed hard against the door in an effort to restrict access giving Mel the chance to crawl free. She edged herself across the room finding a tight spot beneath Nicolas' bed, with only enough room for one person she climbed underneath avoiding mechanical arms supporting the frame.
"Help me! Help, he's trying to kill me."
She screamed out with utmost fear, hoping whoever was on the other side of the door would restrain her husband and save her life. Looking back across the room Andy spotted her crouching down beneath the bed, the anger in his eyes growing as he feared the end of his free life. He glanced back at the door, Peering through the tiny window to see a stocky African nurse fighting to open the door from the other side. Only short but amassing a huge weight as her chunky fingers smashed against the panel, he could take her he assumed with complete arrogance whilst taunting her with a smile. Removing one hand but keeping his feet firmly perched against the door he raised a wave, almost inviting her inside to fight the devil. His cocky bravado made her panic calling out to another nurse passing by who instantly joined ranks in an effort to pry open the door. Both now pushing with all their might he stepped aside allowing them to be thrown into the room, crashing forwards with an almighty clash as they hit the bed in the middle of the room. He reached out grabbing their collars and smashing their faces into one another. One heavy blow knocking one nurse unconcious and the other left badly dazed, Andy's eyes once again met with Mel as he winked, a wink full of nightmares at the exact same moment the hospital lights flickered as if an evil possesed the hallways.
Without a word he turned and ran from the door leaving the carnage behind, by now everyone on the twelfth ward was aware of a mad phycopath present in the hospital, concerned patients and doctors cowered in rooms hoping not to be detected as a few sort out to find and subdue the man causing so much mahem. He darted past nurses and reception staff too afraid to confront him before barging into a nurse and his medicine filled trolley. With the impact tablets erupted from the trolley scattering and filling the room whilst the unprepared nurse was thrown to the floor before being trampled by Andy's feet as he made his escape.
"Stop that man!"
Shouted a male voice from behind him who was now in pursuit and trying to gain distance on Andy.
The call attracted the attention of a junior doctor by the doorway infront of him who in turn rushed to close the door in an effort to stop Andy from exiting. If that dainty little doctor thought she could stop Andy from escaping the hospital she would be greatly dissapointed, he rushed forwards with his arms spread ready to tackle her to the ground if needed. The male behind gaining distance as Andy desperately avoided an angry looking consultant leaving their office, the two now only a arms width apart Andy tilted his head revealing a tall muscular police officer on his trail. He tugged at his radio attached to his shoulder,"This is DCI Ross currently on pursuit of a male in the Cross Valley St.Marys hospital, suspect is thought to be armed and dangerous. I may need some assistance...ove,"
The transmission was cut short by a sharp elbow to the jaw as Andy noticed his opportunity to strike. He didn't think he would stand much of a chance in a fair fight regardless of how much adrenaline was pumping through his blood. Looking back and seeing the officer clutching at his face and slightly startled the gap between the two quickly grew, leaving Andy a good distance away. Now nearing the female doctor as she cowered waiting for his arrival he lowered his head as if like a rhino performing a charge agaisnt a rival. His eyes wide, fierce with an animal instinct to run and saliva gathering at the corners of his mouth as the excitement became too much to bare. He pushed forwards grasping hold of the doctor and throwing her through the door, opening wide to make his escape he leapt over the now downed individual skidding across the slippery floor. Laughing with a sense of achevment he looked down, eye to eye with the doctor.
"Time to scream!"
He muttered before stamping firmly down onto her stomach in an attempt to wind her or worse. With hopes this act may stop other have a go hero's from trying to stop him in his tracks. He powered through the busy hallways and cramped corridors, the rest of the hospital oblivious to the ongoing events as he neared the front door spying two burly hospital security men. Looking directly at him he knew they must have had a call warning them of his impending arrival, as they spread wide across the exit as if to form a baracade, he looked back to see the police officer now hot on his trail once more. This was it, he couldn't see a way out against these three, he panicked. Feeling trapped and overwhelmed, desperate to escape his captors and wishing for a little help from the demons which had tormented him for so long. He couldn't beleive that now of all things he was hoping for another dark vision of ghosts to overpower his soul, unfortunately he was alone it was down to him to fight his way out.
Approaching the security he looked at one straight in the eyes, the biggest of the two. The nastiest looking bastard he had ever seen, this was the one he would have to take down. It was the only way he would have a fighting chance of leaving the hospital, just a few paces away he jumped up completely unexpectedly pulling his knees up high and aiming his feet into the stocky man's stomach. On impact he grabbed hold of the man's shoulders causing his body to arch as his teeth met with the man's forehead. Taking a huge bite he ripped the man's flesh from his face causing immediate pain and loss of stability. The other guard quickly attempting to pull Andy away from the man now collapsing to the ground received a brutal backhand to the nose. The snapping sound of breaking bones resonated through the man's teeth. A swift kick to crotch was enough to keep the security guard on the ground long enough for Andy to make a break for the door.
Running into the street he looked around furiously for a place to hide, somewhere he could go unseen until the heat died down. He would be stupid to hang around the hospital after that jobsworth police officer had called for back up, and would most likely be running out of the hospital door at any moment. Talk about unlucky the one time you try and kill your wife and a bobbie just happens to be within earsreach, that was just Andy's luck. He jumped a small fence at the brow of the hospital entrance, landing on soft grass and pounded his way down a snow filled steady incline hoping to fall out of site quickly. There were no overhead lights and the hill was completely dark, blocked from the moons glow with thick clouds. Not wanting to turn his head on the chance someone was following, he didn't want his eyes to be a giveaway. His thoughts quickly addressing the footprints he was inevitably leaving behind in the settled snow, it wasn't a path many would take so anyone looking for him would quickly realise his escape route. He had to get away from the snow and find somewhere to shelter down, there was no way he could go home. That place was probably crawling with the filth already and the same went for a friend's house, not that he felt he had any friends left in which he could confide in. Perhaps he had been a little rash earlier but you can't push someone to the limit and not expect them to respond.
