It was a breezy Saturday morning and William was shivering in the cold. He looked towards the peacefully sleeping , Wendy. She reminded him of their mother. They were only 5 when she had gotten caught in the fire. He'd been living in the orphanage ever since. Sometimes William wondered what it would be like to have a father.
Three days later in the middle of lunch William was called to the
reception of the orphanage. He wondered why he had to go there. When he reached he saw a couple in fancy clothes smiling at him. Even the receptionist was smiling at him. There was an awkward silence. It was broken by the man in fancy clothes." We are deciding to adopt you." He said. Before William could say anything he heard a thud. Suddenly he felt his eyelids closing. Blackness.Water, cold water. " Finally, your awake.
You've been sleeping for hours."said smooth voice. William sat up. "Where am I? Who are you? Where is Wendy? What did you do to her?" William showered the two people standing in front of him with questions. "Calm down William. You are in" William interrupted him." Who are you and how do you know my name?" Asked William. "We are your new parents. I am Marc Plumbum and this is my wife Juliana Plumbum." Said Marc. William. Never said anything for the rest of the day.
''Good morning, William, look what we got you!'' Said Juliana. ''Its a cat!''
''Whoa, cool can I go and play with her?''
''Why certainly my dear boy.''
William went outside and it caught a bird in its mouth and then.........it ran away.
Come back come back screamed William. He chased it until he reached the Mensterville Fruit Shop and a girl wearing a watermelon cap, banana earrings and many more obscure things. She picked up the cat.
''Wendy, is that you?" Have the Mensterville Friut Shop owners adopted you?" Wendy nodded.
"It is me!"
"It's a miracle!!!!!" screamed William.
"I'm so happy to see you Wendy. I thought I had lost you forever, come with me to my 'house' and get out of this extremely dirty place.
"Here's your cat" said Wendy.
"Thank you" said William, cheerfully.
They started walking towards William's house. They heard a voice. It was faint at first but then it grew in volume. "Hey you. Where do you think you're going." Growled a voice behind them.
"Oh no that is my 'father'"said Wendy" RUN."
When they reached Williams 'house', his 'parents' said "Who is this.....beggar you have brought home!?"
William tried as hard as he could to explain to his parents that Wendy is his sister, but the Plumbum's didn't believe him.
"No,never could she be YOUR sister!"said Mrs. Plumbum, amused.
"She used to be in the orphanage with me, please you have to believe me." William tried to explain but the Plumbum's just wouldn't listen.
"William Plumbum go to your room NOW and leave that poor beggar alone!!" Said Mrs.Plumbum, furiously.
Later that day when Juliana was walking up to Williams room she heard him saying "Oh, mother I wish you here, then you can tell that grouch, Juliana that Wendy is my sister and father I wish you were here too so that you can tell that tiny Marc Dumbbum that Wendy IS my actual sister."
After hearing that Juliana felt very upset and at the same time she was angry at him for calling her a grouch. Later that evening Juliana was talking to Marc about what William had said. Just when they were deciding on what to do they heard a knock on the door. Seldom did anyone knock on their door. The Plumbum's wondered who it might be. They open the door to see the Mensterville fruits shop owners angrily standing on the front porch. "Can we help you?" Asked Juliana. "Ahem. Whe are are looking for a girl. Wendy is her name." The Plumbum's were so shocked they almost fainted. They didn't know what to say. They wanted to make William happy and they also wanted Wendy to go back to her rightful parents. They finally made up their minds. "Yes we have seen Wendy. She was under the big banyan tree.""Thanks"said the fruit man. William did not see Wendy for the rest of the week.
One day while William was walking around he saw a girl waving at him. It was Wendy he ran home and called his parent. After a lot of convincing the Plumbum's finally decided to go with William. When they reached the orphanage they adopted Wendy. Their family was finally complete.
