Carter's P.O.V.

The first time I saw her cry. I had caused it. The memory still haunts me every day. I was mad and she was just trying to help, but I snapped. I screamed at her. I don't even remember what I said.

My sister walked in as she dashed out the door. We watched her run through the fields and drop to her knees in the middle of the grass.

My heart hurt as soon as she started crying. My little sister looked at me with sadness and what she said completely broke my heart. "What did you do to her?"

Alison's P.O.V.

He was beyond mad. I was trying to help him and then he said it. I felt like I just got my heart ripped out. I made it out of the house and just ran. I felt an overwhelming wave of pain come over me and I couldn't take it anymore. I dropped to my knees and cried. His sister came to my side and I will always be grateful of that act of kindness.

Carter's P.O.V.

I felt like such a despicable monster. I walked over to her. She looked up at me tears still running down her face. Her brown eyes pierced mine. I didn't see anger or sadness, just pain.

"Go away" she yelled through the cries. I immediately ran away. I didn't see her until that night. Little did I know what was there for me to see.

Alison's P.O.V.

He came over to me. As soon as I lifted my head to see him, my pain took over. I screamed at him to go away. He ran away, and I continued to cry. A little bit later, his sister took me inside to help me clean up and to help me get ready for tonight.

I stood in front of the mirror. I was in shock. Standing there in that beutiful deep red gown, curls cascading down my shoulder, dazzling yet subtle make up, and black heels. Tonight was the night. Clueless of what was to come, I left the house and was on my way.
