Walking through the city without loosing Devon was not a walk in the park. He kept wanting to return back to the woman and get her attention. He did manage to get away once. But I've been dead longer and can use my abilities to be faster.
"Will you stop squirming so much?" I stop to ask. He shakes his head.
"She needs me. I need to go back." He says still turning as if to walk off. I yank his arm as I begin walking again.
"For the third time your dead she can't see you unless she dies too." I say, still looking ahead. I could finally see the city's edge. I pull him the last few meters to the outskirts, but something wasn't right. Jasper jumped down off my shoulder and went to hide in a near by trashcan.
"Stand behind me." I say. Immediately after a dark shadow with menassing eyes jumps off of a building and snarls. I pull out my pen knives and toss one to Devon.
"Click it." I yell as click mine. It shines and quickly draws out the curved knives that I have grown to love.
"Wow." Devon says from behind me. I look back to see that his isn't my curved knife but a long katana. It was glowing a vibrant red that twinkled when he sliced the air. I look back at the monster ahead of me. The monster snarled and started to lung at us. I ducked in time to avoid a huge pitch- black claw. I have never seen a demon such as this one. It was huge and much faster the the others.
" Get away from here." I yell. I stand up and ready myself. It swings again and I duck, this time swing my knife up to stab it. I get it in the side, but am thrown to the side by the momentum of the demons wrath. I sit up.
"Ow." I look down to see blood slowly oozing out of my now broken open wound. This thing is going to be tough to defeat. I get back up and take a fighting stance. It turned my way lunged. I ducked and lunged at the monsters rib cage. My knife hooked itself into its side and I pulled trying to pry its skin off. I succeeded but not before being swatted at. I fall off the monster and get ready to strike again, but before I do I notice that the monster has turned on Devon.
"Devon I told you to run." I yell. Devon must not have heard me as he was still slicing the air with his sword.
"Devon, watch out." I say as the monster swipe a large claw in his direction. Devon looks up and ducks just in time to avoid the monsters claw. To my surprise he brings the sword up and strikes the monster in the head. The monster falls to its knees.
"How did you do that?" I ask in awe. I look at the dead monster and back at Devon.
