Nothing but the sound of the wind whipping past his face.

Nothing but the sound of his heavy breathing.

Nothing but an empty arena.

Nothing but Jeongguk and his broom. The Slytherin student likes it this way; being alone.

While most of the campus was empty, thanks to summer break, Jeongguk had to deal with several groups of summer transfer students. Hogwarts is Jeongguk's home and anyone who disrespected his home, disrespected him.

Not only had he spent most of his summer brushing up on his Dark Arts, Quidditch practice, and being locked up in Slytherin's common room (dungeon) for fighting the other students, but he also had his hands full with uncovering the strange occurrences going on throughout the University.

No one ever listens to a Slytherin. No one trusts a Slytherin. Jeongguk knows this, so it came as no surprise to him when no one would share information about the missing students and professors.

Sure, Jeongguk hated the annoyingly friendly Hufflepuff, the know-it-all Ravenclaws, and the all-so-brave Gryffindors, but they're still people. He fears for the future of his beloved school... and maybe another student he may have taken a liking to.

Now, summer has ended and the transfers returned home with less than half the students they've began with. It frustrated Jeongguk that they could return to their 'normal' lives without questioning what was happening.

These thoughts raced through Jeongguk's mind as he zoomed through the air, speeding around the Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch. He finally grew exhausted and collapsed in the middle of the field. He laid on the grass under the afternoon sun as he caught his breath and enjoyed the silence.

"Jeongguk!"

The Slytherin quickly sat up, recognizing the owner of the voice. "Taehyung?" In the distance, standing at the entrance of the Quidditch Pitch was a male, cloaked in a Gryffindor robe and uniform, waving his arms wildly above his head.

Jeongguk grinned in amusement as he stood from the ground, dusting his clothes off. Grabbing his broom, he strolled over to the smiling male. "Gukkie!"

"Don't call me that." The Slytherin frowned, soon greeted with an not-so-unexpected hug from the Gryffindor. Taehyung released him from the hug and began fixing the other male's hair.

"Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen you." Taehyung chuckled. "Guess I missed you too much."

Jeongguk gulped as he held a blank stare, allowing Taehyung to do as he pleases. Yoongi hyung teases that he's whipped. Jeongguk can't argue. Something about Taehyung just has him feeling a way he can't describe.

"24."

"What?" Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows.

"24 students went missing this summer."

The Gryffindor sighed as he straightened Jeongguk's uniform. "Don't tell me you've been doing this all summer."

"Doing what?"

"Solving this case all by yourself. Going on your own. You could get hurt. Hell, you could go missing as well."

"What do you expect me to do Taehyung? Sit around and watch more people die?"

"We don't know if they're dead."

"And if they are?" Jeongguk clenched his fist. "I couldn't watch people disappear without trying to do something to help. They took Hagrid, hyung! Do you know how important he is to me? He was like a dad to me."

"I know." Taehyung frowned. "It's just, I don't—"

"Trust me?" Jeongguk cut off.

"No. I was going to say that I don't want you doing this alone."

"It didn't help that you left for the summer too." Jeongguk mumbled almost inaudibly.

"I have a home Guk. I have parents and siblings. I have to go back home. I couldn't stay." Taehyung explained as he watched the Slytherin walk over to the bench and grab his robe.

"Must be nice. To have a family." Jeongguk whispered, putting on his robe. "It's whatever now. We should probably go."

Jeongguk walked down the entrance until he felt an embrace from behind. Taehyung buried his head in the Slytherin's back, arms tightly holding the male in a back hug. "Let's not fight." The Gryffindor mumbled. "Let's not do this, please. I'm sorry."

Jeongguk sighed. He unwrapped the elder's arms and turned around, taking Taehyung into his arms. "No, don't apologize hyung. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gotten upset." He apologized. "You have a family. I was being immature." I wanted you all to myself.

Taehyung as they released from the hug. "I'm here now Jeongguk."

"Yes you are." The Slytherin laughed. "How annoying."

The Gryffindor gasped and playfully hit Jeongguk's arm. The sound of the clock tower ringing startled the two as they widened their eyes. "The assembly!" Taehyung croaked. "How are we going to get there in time?"

Jeongguk raised his broom, smiling deviously. "I've got an idea."
