(From the POV of Kana)

"Okay have fun. Tell me how your first day goes when you get home! Make sure you don't forget to take the bus." my mom said with enthusiasm.

"I know..." I said in a melancholy voice, grabbed my backpack, phone, and left the car. I walked across the sidewalk to the school doors. "High school. Why do I have to go to this? Let's do this thing, I guess?" I thought to myself. "22 to the right, 4 to the left, 26 to the right and open," my locker opened surprisingly easy. I grabbed my notebook and walked to the multi-purpose room.

A tall girl stood on the steps of the stage began to talk right as I walked in, "Okay let's get started! This group is for all the incoming freshman, high school is nothing to be nervous for. So right now we are all going to go around and say our names. My name is Natalie and I'm a senior." Everyone else had said their name and then it was my turn.

My voice was shaky, "Um hi I'm... my name... I'm Kana" my face got red, and I hoped no one could tell. Someone walked in and sat down right next to me the room was silent but they whispered in my ear,

"What did I miss," I took a deep breathe and responded in a low toned voice.

"Not much we just said our names, I don't really want to be here. But my mom is making me." I sighed. "We should just leave!" I said jokingly.

"Yeah let's go! I'm Fynn by the way." I couldn't tell if he was serious or not but I replied,

"I'm Kana," Fynn stood up and I knew he was serious, I stood up and walked out with him. "I'm going to go to my locker and put my notebook away, I have locker 169." I said once we had left the multipurpose room.

"Wait... really!? I'm 173!" Fynn said abruptly. We walked down the hall in silence. I reached into my right pocket and pulled out my phone. "I like your hair, I want to dye my hair like that." He said to break the silence.

"Thanks, I like you're hair too. You should dye you're hair red. I think it would look really cool!" I replied. We kept talking and I found that Fynn was a lot like me. We talked until we had to go to class.

After a long day, I got on the bus and sat quietly with my earbuds in. Fynn gave me his number and I listened to set it off and twenty øne pilots my two favorite bands. Fynn and I texted until I got off the bus and I started my homework when I got home.
