"Valentine!"
I open my arms and let May out of my grip. her grey PJs look wrinkled and her face was full of sadness
"I promise I will visit" I whisper this and then rush down the dusty grey staircase to my father and mother waiting impatiently in the living room "Yes Mother, Yes Father" as I say this I straighten my back and look at my mother and father with a smile and Hoped I didn't look too messy other wise mother would brush and pull at my Auburn hair until it was neat

Father was dressed in a grey and black suit with his black hair slick back with mountains of gel, My mother however was wearing a delicate grey dress with white details and her blonde hair in a neat bun placed on the top of her head. They dressed like this at Carter's ceremony I just hope I won't disappoint "them"
like Carter did
"Valentine, remember to be polite when you are taken to the academy" my mother orders, as delicate as my mother looks with her blonde hair and blue eyes she is actually very vicious and sassy when she wants.
"Please don't make the same mistakes as Carter" begs my father, his eyes were pleading with me, father had always been very sensitive about the loss of my sister, you see our government is cruel I never call them my master or emperor as they wish but I merely just refer to them as "Them", because I know how wicked and cruel their minds are and because Carter didn't fit their needs they Exiled her. I hate "them" with a passion, but I can't tell anyone about it unless I want to suffer the same fate as my sister
"Now!, Valentine go upstairs and get ready, I don't want any daughter of mine going to their ceremony looking like they just rolled out of a pig pen" Ordered my mother with a firm voice
I turn around and race upstairs scared of what my mother would do if I didn't obey all of her commands
I enter my grey room, everything's still the same: A single grey bed, A grey bed side table with a matching lamp, A grey vanity with a black hairbrush (and a couple of orange hairs) and last but not least my simple grey closet with the most colourless and depressing outfits you will ever see
