Apologise

The rest of the school day seemed normal enough except for when I went to lunch.I was sitting with some of my friends when Steve, the biggest player in my class walked over and sat beside me."Hey babe" he said wrapping an arm around my waist as I tried to move away "how about me and you go to the upstairs broom closet to,I don't know have some fun" he winked at me.
"You sleaze, you may be popular but you can't fucking sleep with anything with two legs"I all but screamed back
"Come on baby we can have some fun and I'll tell all the guys how good you are at....."right at that moment Steve was pulled away from me,I looked up and saw Noah standing over Steve who was lying on the floor
"Apologise" Noah growled as Steve got up
"Oh I'm going to enjoy this"said Steve as he threw a punch and missed making all his 'friends' gasp,Noah smirked and grabbed his fist
"I said apologise or is your brain too small to do that as well" said Noah tightening his grip,Steve mumbled what seemed to be an apology so Noah let him go.
"Thank you Noah"I said looking down
"For what?"he smiled
"For protecting me"I looked up smiling and hugging him
"No problem,I couldn't let my friend get hurt or raped or anything Melissa"he hugged me back tighter.

"So Melissa what was that?"asked Missy , one of my closest friends
"What was what?"I asked
"Don't play dumb,Noah was pretty protective of you"she said emphasising protective
"Can't my friend be protective of me?"I asked her
"I've never seen you hang out with him a day in your life"she said laughing
"He's just really sweet and protective Missy"I said as Josh laughed
"Someone has a crush and from the way he literally fought Steve for you I'd say it's returned" Josh said as I blushed lightly
"He forced the guy who never apologises to apologise,I think he likes you even if it's not returned" Missy adds
"No he doesn't and I don't like him we're friends nothing more"I say quickly.

Noah's POV
"What did I just do,I fought a jock claiming myself dead to the world over a girl who'd never like me anyway, if anyone there watches me in the clubs they'll recognise my fighting style and my whole plan will be gone down the drain. But it was worth it for just one hug off of her,even if she never speaks to Noah again she'll have to speak to Matthew Kingston, she agreed to watch him fight but I don't want to force her into it, I'll be as bad as Steve" I thought while sliding down the wall,I heard light footsteps so I looked up and saw Melissa smiling at me so I jumped up quickly trying not to be awkward.
