Porshea's POV
"Come on guys, its getting dark, let's look at the stars!" I shout. I push open my patio doors and run into the garden. The stars haven't come out yet, which is good, because everyone hasn't come out yet.
I heard laughter coming from my house. I looked behind me and saw, Sammie, Harry, Vik and Josh walk out. I sat on the freshly cut grass and lied down, Sammie, Harry, Vik and Josh copying. "Simon, JJ, Ethan, Tobi hurry up! The stars will be coming soon." Sammie shouted.
They soon joined and they lied down. "Thank you guys for coming to my 8th birthday party." I told them, whilst smiling. That's when I saw it.
A shooting star. I've never seen one before.
"Look at shooting star!" I heard Simon say. Out the corner of my eye you could see him pointing to the sky. "My mum said if you see a shooting star, make a wish and your dream will come true." Vik told us.
"Let's make a wish!" JJ shouted, which made us laugh, especially Ethan. I closed my eyes and though really hard.
I wish that when we grow older, we will still be together, no fights will happen and we would always be best friends.
I opened my eyes and smiled. "What did you wish for?" Sammie asked, turning her head to the side so she could see me. I turned my head to the side and looked at her. "If I say, it won't come true." I told her and she smiled. "Happy Birthday.." She whispered. "Thank you."
I turned my head to I was looking back at the stars. Each star glistened, which made me smile. "Dude that is a plane. Not a star!" I heard Ethan shout. "No its a star. Are you blind?" I heard Harry shout. I giggle at their stupidity.
"What are you giggling about?" Harry asked, laughing as well. "You guys are stupid. It doesn't matter if its a star or not, it looks pretty." I told them and they all laugh.
"Okay kids, thank you for coming to Porshea's party, your parents are here to pick you up." My mum told us. We all sat up and we had a group hug.
"Every day of every year, we should lay under the stars. No matter how old, we should make this as a tradition. Promise?" I asked.
"Promise!" They shouted in unison.
Present Day
I closed the front door and placed my jacket on the rack. I wish I could have a day off on my birthday, but that would never happen. I work as a waitress at Nandos with Sammie. "I feel so sorry for you Po, its a shame that Will wouldn't let you off on your birthday." Sammie told me whilst she took her shoes off.
"But Will is a prick. He doesn't care if i ts someone's birthday or someone's funeral. As long as all the staff is there making him money he doesn't care." I retort. "Agreed."
I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the leftover Dominos pizza we had the previous night. We were in the mood for pizza, allow it. I grab a can of coke and pushed the patio doors. I made my way to the middle of the garden and sat down, looking at the sunset. Its so beautiful.
Moments later, the sunset went, leaving me in darkness. Sammie sat next to me, pizza in one hand and a can of coke in the other. "Do you think the guys still do this?" I questioned. "Do what?" Sammie asked, taking a bite of her pizza.
"This. Looking at the stars. Like we did when we were 8 years old. The tradition." I told her and she shrugged. "I have no clue. But I would thing so. You know the guys, they never break traditions or promises." She told me. She's right.
They never break their promises. I drink a bit of my coke and took more bites of the slice of pizza. "Do you think they remember us?" Sammie asked me and I shrugged. "I'm not sure. I hope they do. I remember them, you remember them. But I don't know." I retorted. I finish my pizza, take a sip of my drink and placed it somewhere else, so I could lay down. I look up at the sky and see stars forming.
Sammie lied down next to me. "Dude, a shooting star!" She shouted, pointing to the sky. That reminds me of when Simon did that when we were 8. Heck, this reminds me on when it was my 8th birthday, I just wish the guys were here. "I wish the guys were here. Would be like old times." I heard Sammie say. It's like she read my mind.
Another shooting star appeared. "We should make a wish." I told her and she 'mhm' in reply. I closed my eyes and thought about what I would wish for.
I wish we could see the guys again. I miss them so much..
I opened my eyes and moved my head to the side, to see Sammie with her eyes closes. Her eyes opened a couple seconds later, and looked at me. "What did you wish for?" She whispered, whist she smiled. I guess she remembered what she did at my party. "If I say, it won't come true." I told her whilst smiling.
"I hope you had a great birthday Po..." She whispered.
"Thank you Sammie..." I said back.
