Backstory: Loris's father was always away on military business, and her mother was a very critical and demanding woman. At nine years of age, Loris was capable of taking care of herself and the large house they lived in. When she was three, her mother had given birth to a baby boy who Loris grew very attached to and protective of. Because of her parents' statuses in the social ladder, Loris was taken to many feasts, banquets, and parties. She even met the president when she was a baby, but never remembered it and doesn't even believe her father when he says she did meet him. When Loris was ten, her mother died in childbirth and soon thereafter so did the baby. (That's when Loris started to become very protective of her brother.) At twelve, she was taken to testing and was given a thumbs-down. At thirteen, she was come again taken to testing but this time given a thumbs-up. She has been at the SASI for two years and has since caught up with her fellow Level Fours. Because of her struggle with keeping up in Level Two since she was a year behind, she pities those that arrive only in Level Two and often helps them. The first time Loris was taken to see a mission, she and her classmates had been taken hostage and she was poisoned along with her schoolmates and almost killed. Because of this, she has developed a fear of death—but not her death. She can live with herself dying (ironic, right?) but she would never forgive herself if a friend died in front of her eyes, or if her brother was killed and she did nothing to help, even if she could do nothing.
