"Ok guys this lesson is duets and it's going to be a contest!" Mr. Shue said. Everyone clapped. "But you won't be picking your partners, you will be chosen by faith!" Everyone stopped clapping and moaned. "Oh stop and pick." These are the groups, Puck and Quinn, Finn and Rachel, Santana and Brittney, Mercedes and Artie, Sam and Tina, Mike and Sugar, and Kurt and Blaine. "Ok everyone get started, we will start tomorrow!" Mr Shue said when the bell went off. "Hey Rachel, why don't you come over tonight and we could work on our song." Finn said. "Ok." Rachel said smiling. Puck and Blaine walked up to them. "Well, well, well, what is our sis up to now with her boyfriend?" Blaine said starring down Finn. "We are going to work on our song at his house." Rachel said. "Well ok." Puck said. Everyone was shocked. "What happened to the brother that was always the protect one, I mean Blaine is ok at it but you were the best one." Rachel said. "Hey!" Blaine said. Rachel rolled her eyes. "We have a surprise for you for tomorrow during glee, so be there." Puck said and they walked off. "Ok, see you tonight." Rachel said and Finn nodded.
At Finn's house
Rachel knocked on his door and was greeted by Finn's mom. "Hey Rachel, Finn is in his room." Finn's mom said. "Ok thanks." Rachel said and walked up to his room. Rachel knocked and Finn answered the door. "Hey Rachel, come in." Finn said. Rachel came in and sat on his bed. "So what song do you want to sing?" Rachel asked. "How about Rolling in the deep?" Rachel smiled. "That's my favorite song." "Yeah, I know." They smiled at each other and then worked on there song. Nothing else happened that night or that day, so to glee club. "Does anyone have their song ready?" Mr. Shue asked. Rachel and Finn raised their hands. "Ok great, go ahead." They sung their song and sat down. "Ok well that's going to be the only song today because we have a new member joining the club today, he has already was chosen to be in my me and he sings good." Everyone was curious about what Mr. Shue was talking about. "Everyone one, Max Johnson!" Mr. Shue said and Max walked in. Rachel, Puck, and Blaine were shocked. "M, Max?" Rachel said. Max looked over at her. "Rach?" Max said. Rach? Finn thought. Rachel ran up to him and hugged him. "Oh my god, we thought we wouldn't see you ever again!" Rachel said. "I transferred back to Lima." Max answered and kissed her cheek. Rachel blushed and looked at Puck and Blaine while Finn got jealous. "Was this the surprise you were talking about?" Rachel asked. "Umm, no we got you a cake, this is a surprise for all of us." Puck said. Blaine couldn't help him self and got up and hugged Max. "Dude, you scared us, leaving and never told us." Blaine said. "Yeah, I took that as you breaking up with me and cried for a year." Rachel said. Everyone but Puck, Blaine, Max, and Rachel gasped. "I thought you were her first boyfriend." Quinn said to Finn. Puck overheard them. "No Finn was the third boyfriend of Rachel's first was Max and second was Jesse, and by the looks of it, I think they still love each other."Puck said looking at them. Finn looked over at Rachel and Max. "She doesn't look at me that way." Finn said. "He was her first boyfriend Finn, she will always look at him that way, but she loves you, for now at least." Puck said. "What does that mean?" "Max and Rachel go back a long time, they known each other since they were 1 month old." Puck said. Finn looked down. "Hey why don't you come over tonight and have dinner with us, our parents would be happy to know your alive." Blaine said. "Sorry Blaine, I wouldn't be there, Finn and I have a date tonight." Rachel said. Max's smile disappeared. "You have a boyfriend?" Max said disappointed. "Yeah, and I think it's going great." Rachel said unsure. "Why did you sound so unsure Rachel?" Blaine asked. "Well, he is always hanging out with Santana and the Cheerios, I just feel like we are drifting apart." Rachel said and looked down. "Rach, if he doesn't see how amazing you are, he doesn't deserve you." Max said. Rachel got a text message and she looked at it. "I, I have to go, see you later." Rachel said and went over to Finn. "See you tonight?" Rachel asked. "Sorry, I have some plans tonight." Finn said. Rachel looked at her phone. "Knew it!" Rachel said and ran off to the gym. "Dude what did you do, why did you blow her off you guys had plans tonight." Puck said. "She doesn't want to do them, she would rather be with Max." Finn said and Max heard him. "Umm, for the record she blew off having dinner with me and her family to do her date with you, and why would she want to hang out with me, I haven't seen her in 5 years!" Max said. In the gym with Rachel. "He blew me off, you were right!" Rachel said. "I know, he only wants to be with you so when you win a award he can say that your his wife." Someone said. "What about Max?" Rachel asked. "He only came back to leave you again, but me I will never leave you, break up with Finn and run away with me!" Rachel thought for a minute. "Ok, ok, I will do it Jesse, just don't break my heart again." Jesse smiled. "Promise, now go back in there." Rachel nodded and went back to glee club. Everyone looked at Rachel. "Rachel you ok?" Puck asked coming up to her. Rachel flinched and walked over to the corner of the room. Puck looked shocked. "Why did she look afraid of you?" Blaine asked. "I don't know." Puck said. "Let me try to talk to her." Blaine said and walked up to Rachel. "Hey you ok?" Blaine asked and held Rachel's hand. Rachel flinched and grabbed her hand away. Blaine stepped back. "What's wrong with you?" Blaine asked. "Max is going to leave again and Finn is only staying around to say that I am his wife when I win award, Jesse is the only that won't leave me." Rachel said softly. Blaine looked shocked. "You've been talking to Jesse again?" Blaine asked. Rachel looked up and nodded. Blaine walked away from her. When he got back to the group, he was nervous. "What did she say?" Puck asked. "She has been talking to Jesse again, he told her that Max will always leave us and that Finn is just going to tag along to say that she's his wife when she wins a award, and that Jesse told her he would never leave or say that to her." Blaine said. "Why would we do that?" Max asked. "Because Jesse came in a odd timing, she was devastated about Max and she liked Finn, but you never talked to her, so they started to date." Puck said. "Wait she liked me when she was dating Jesse?" Finn asked. Blaine and Puck nodded. "Finn?" Rachel said. Everyone looked at her and noticed she was looking at her phone. "I think we should break up." Rachel said still looking at her phone. "And Max, I never want to see you again." Everyone was shocked. Blaine went over and grabbed her phone. "Blaine stop!" Rachel yelled. Blaine ignored her and looked at what she was reading. Do it know and we can run away together, the text said. Blaine looked at Rachel. "Run away?" Blaine said. Rachel looked down. Another text came in. I know you still love Finn, and want to be friends with Max, but they will only hurt you, don't listen to your brothers they only care about hurting you too, remember they broke us up, came with me and we can be free. Blaine got tears forming in his eyes. Rachel grabbed her phone and read it. "Don't do it Rachel, please!" Blaine yelled. Rachel looked mad and she looked at everyone. She handed Kurt a note. Kurt did a double take. Rachel ran out of there. "Rachel!" Finn yelled and tried to run after her, but was stopped by Kurt. "She doesn't want to do this, but she knows we all will hurt her, apparently Jesse showed up because he wants Rachel back, but she refused and now he is putting things in her head so she would be with him." Kurt said reading the note. "He is what?" Puck asked. Kurt handed him the note. Puck looked mad. "Ok, if he wants to play that game, come on let's go to the gym." Puck said and everyone followed him wondering what they were going to do.
