"Hi my name is Alexis, I'm in 6th grade , and my horse's name is Rosie. I started riding at the age if 2 1/2 , my first horse was Miniature Pony named "Pretty".
Now this is were my story begins...
It was a Friday Morning and we had no school because of parent teacher conferences. I called my friend Lexy and Shuanua over to practice for tomorrow's "Silver Saddles Trophy Series" . We all were exited. About 20 min. Later both of them arrive with there horses in the horse trailer.
They got out and unloaded their horses and started tacking them up, I was already on my horse waiting. Lexy was the first one to get done she was riding her horse Jr. and then Shuanua came around to where we were with our horses, she was riding her horse Amigo.
We got in the arena and we walked,trotted,and canters laps around it. First, we set up the barrel pattern and the the timers. I went first, I did a nice pocket around the 1st barrel and almost nocked down the 2nd barrel but I quickly reached down just in time to balance it again, we call the 3rd barrel the money barrel "who knows why" but we do. I went around it nicely and now for my favorite part of it, the dash home. My time was a 17.03 .
Next was Lexy she made a perfect run and her time was a 17.01 .
Shuanua was next with her horse Amigo, she almost nocked down the 2nd barrel like me but balanced it so it did not fall. Her time was a 17.10 .
Like some people we don't brag about our times or how fast our horse was.
After we did all the patterns we went to the barn and put our horses in stalls and we watered and fed them. Lexy and Shuanua asked if they could sleep over and just go to the show with us in the morning and both of their parents said "yes".
We ran to the house and ate pizza for dinner , we were all starving after a long day of riding , we were also very tired . After dinner we ran up to my room to get our pjs on and I put in the movie "Secatareate". We all fell asleep during the movie.
My mom woke us up at 6:00 ,and told us to get ready. I put on my turquoise show shirt and my miss mees jeans. I squeezed my boots on and waited for Lexy and Shuanua.
When they came out of my room we ran to the barn to load our horses and tack into the trailer. After about 20 min. We were in the road.
We Finally got there at 7:00 and went to register , we all went in all of the gaming classes. If we got 1st-8th place we got to go to districts, non of us have been so districts before so we all hope we make it.
We ran to the trailer and put on our show tack and went into the ring to practice I canters around the arena once and then I had to get out.
The first event was barrels , my favorite! I was the 2nd to go , and my stomach was in 1 big not. I patted Rosie on the neck and wished I do a good job. She walked into the arena calmly everyone was looking at me like I was only going to walk the barrels but they are wrong, I did a wonderful pocket around the 1st barrel and another great one around the 2nd one too , last was the money barrel as I went around it Rosie's shoulder nocked it over and I ran as fast as I could back to the gate. I was furious , but it was not Rosie's fault I ran straight towards the barrel so I can't be mad at her. Lexy got 4th so she was in districts already and Shuanua got 7th so she made it also. Next, is poles I know I'll have to do good in this event.
