Background: He is the son of a yakuza boss but doesn't really act or seem like the person that would be. Taika is a kind and excepting individual who will try and help people even when it would cause him to get hurt. When he was thirteen his left eye was crushed during an aikido match when his helmet collapsed , he now has a glass eye from this but he normally will wear a patch over it. Even with this hindrance he managed to go to an aikido championship and got third place and a judo world junior championship where he placed in eighth and was perfectly fine with this and is always trying to get better. Because of this he has some trouble keeping some grades high, particularly math. He is second in line to become the boss of his fathers group of yakuza just behind his older brother and just ahead of his younger sister who taika was protective over and has taken many beatings for protecting from other yakuza and has almost been killed twice for doing so
