Flipping onto the next pages trying to not get a paper-cut I stopped. When a tapping of a pencil began, I looked around. Everyone was still in the middle of the test.
I fumbled with my hair before the phone rang. Most of the class looked up in surprise from the loud ring. The teacher walked over to the phone picking it up as I let go of my hair. Mr. Lee hung up the phone then walked up to me.
"Principle Howell needs to see you in his office, Amber" he said as a couple Ooo's went around the room.
"Get back to work" Mr. Lee ordered and I stood up with my stuff and walked out of the room.
Yes, my name was Amber, pretty average. Five foot three and the smartest of my classes. I'm not a nerd, I'm just looking forward to not paying to get into collage.
I didn't have bleach blonde hair like cheerleaders, or short black pixie cuts like emos or goths (no offense). My hair was naturally straight and brown, not anything great. My eyes are a weird purple but I covered them with blue colored contacts most of the time.
I walked into the office and knocked on Mr.Howells office door.
"Come in" I heard him yell as I opened the door.
"Yes Mr.Howell, you wanted to see me?" I asked him as he signaled me to sit down.
"Yes, we are having a new student start tomorrow." He put a schedule infront of him and studied it for a while.
"He got expelled from his other school for bad behavior and terrible grades. But your the complete opposite of that Ms. Rein. Aren't you?" He smiled asking.
"I guess, so you want me to tutor him?" I asked back.
"Exactly, just get him to see that if he fails school, he fails life." Mr. Howell smiled as I smirked.
"I don't think that's how it works" I chuckled at his weird personality.
"Whatever Amber, get back to class now" he said jokingly as I walked out of the office with a small laugh.
I finished the rest of class and went straight to my locker.
"What's up, Buttercup?" I looked up to see Dylan's blonde hair shadowing his eyes. He smiled at me with his glorious dimples showing as I zipped up my backpack.
"Surprisingly waiting for you?" I smiled and ruffled his hair so his eyes were hit by the light, glimmering his natural blue eyes.
"Really?" He asked as I shut my locker and locked it before walking with him.
"Sure" I chuckled as Sydney approached us with her strawberry blonde hair curled in perfection and a galaxy dress twirling while she walked.
"Hey Amber Camber and Dylan..." She paused looking into the distance " Whatever rhymes with that" she smiled and looked back at us two.
"So what's up Sydney?" I asked her as we walked outside of the school. The air was still dry as it had been for about four years, we haven't seen, felt or known of rain for a while now.
"I thought we were all going to The Hangout?" She asked stopping in her steps texting already on her phone.
"Oh we are" Dylan stated pulling on her arm as I laughed and we began heading to our daily hangout place, The Hangout.
The Hangout was the name of a twenty year old building for young teens to hangout. It had televisions of sports and tv series and had any day fast food from pizza to cheeseburgers.
We walked into the viably lighted room and sat down in a booth.
"So, Amber what are you doing next Saturday?" Sydney said as the waiter came up to us. Her peroxide blonde hair was wrapped up in a bun and her green eyes matched her uniform.
