Kitari's P.O.V.

Kitari: "My...home...my parents...my friends...my village...EVERYTHING...! There was so much I wanted to ask, do, say, live through...! Why?! And...and...who was that...?"

I stand in front of what's supposed to be my village...my home...the image of that glaring figure...white, slender, green-eyed, FREAK! That MURDERER!!! It took everything from me! But why though?! What have we done?! Was...was it a mob? And evil mob? But father said that mobs came out at night, and were things like creepers, skeletons, zombies...and very rarely...ah, I can't remember that last one. He said it was black, and you should never look it in the eye.

Kitari: "But...*sniff*...this was white...and I looked it in the eye and..."

I DID get knocked out...but I didn't DIE like father said I would. I must've just fell from fear. I SAW that THING kill my friends, destroy my village, ALL BY ITSELF. I have NEVER EVER seen a mob do THAT before. I've seen spider jockeys, yes, spiders are harmful too, creepers explode, the butcher turning into a zombie...! Gah, I don't wanna remember that...but NEVER have I SEEN or HEARD of a slender mob that can set entire villages on fire in a SPLIT SECOND.

Kitari: "What...what...am I gonna...do now...?"

Everything was in ashes. No building was there anymore, not even stray blocks, well, a few. But mostly...all that was there, was a bunch of huge craters. Bigger than what creepers can make. I saw the look in mother's eyes. She might've known what had happened, and who that mob was. But she's dead now, and I can't ask her. I don't know much about my mother, but what I do know is that she's some kind of hero that saved the world. And I'm proud of that, but I never knew WHAT she saved the world from. Now I can't even ask anymore.

Kitari: "R-right! I'm gonna live like a user! Survive by myself! I'm gonna show mother in Heaven..."

Wherever that was, but I know it's there...

Kitari: "...That I can...live by myself! That I...can...survive...!"

I'm trying so hard not to start another blast of waterworks, like I did last time. But...I want to be brave like my mother was. Live like the legendary user she was. I never met a user besides mother...and don't really know what users are exactly. But I am gonna survive without help. After all, I am her daughter. I pick up most of the floating blocks, setting their data in my mind. Then I set out into the birch forest and wipe the stray tears off my face.

*****

Nightfall, and I've already found a place deep in the forest. I feel sluggish and tired, and was told by mother to place down a bed and sleep before I start hearing monsters. So I plop down a bed and go to sleep. The minute my head hits the white pillow, my whole body feels so comfortable, like I'm sleeping on a cloud. Not that...I've slept on a cloud, if you know what I mean, but it was just...wow...

*****

Kitari: "*yawn*...man that was great..."

No kidding, no nightmares, no dreams. Mother said that if something ever scary or wonderful happened to her, she'd have these visions called 'dreams' and if they were bad and scary, they were called 'nightmares'. And I do remember not going to sleep for three days, afraid I was going to have a nightmare.

Kitari: "Well, I'm not a real user...but I'm LIKE a user! That's...good enough for me...*sigh*, time to start moving..."

I break my crafting table, bed, and furnace, and start moving. I had crafted basic things like a pickaxe and axe, didn't thing I'd need a hoe or shovel yet...but what I'm most afraid of crafting is a sword. But I want to keep a spare stick and two pieces of cobblestone in inventory.

Kitari: "Huh...this forest goes on forever! What's with this place? Oh...hello..."

I saw to fallen trees that made it look like a staircase leading to the top of the next tree. I climb onto the tree using the fallen ones. I don't know if this is traditional for users...but I guess it would be more fun and easier if I was tree bunting. Tree bunting is basically jumping from tree to tree, not touching the ground. It's pretty fun!

Kitari: "Okay...let's see here...ooh! There's a mountain over there! But it's so faint!"

It'll take a long time to tree bunt over to there! I tie up the skirt to my teal dress, and roll up my jade colored pants a bit. Then I take off my white flats, as mother calls them, and send the data to my inventory. Then I prick up my fox ears, set back on all fours, (my father calls it that when I prowl back) and sprint across the trees like the wolves. I'm staring to think that foxes and wolves are related. I hope I get to see a real fox. I wonder if they're even real...

Kitari: "But...this is...just awesome enough...!"

Ah, talking wasn't really a good idea...

Kitari: "W-w-WHOA!!!"

*THUMP*

Kitari: "Ow!!! Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow...!!!"

That HURT! Note to self...do NOT talk during tree bunting. It takes away your pattern of breath, and you'll loose so much balance and energy that you'll plummet to the ground like a shot-out anvil. You have NO idea. My body flashes red.

Kitari: "What the...? Ow! Huh...?! Ow!"

Each time I flash red, which was around 3 times maybe, I feel like my life's been taken away. Every time I flash, my sight blinks red, and I can see behind my vision, hearts...in a line...and can't tell how many there are, but they're disappearing in halves. Suddenly the pain stops, and I can't see the hearts or the red. Huh, that has never happened to me before. I now feel really hungry, so I start eating some bread that I made.

Kitari: "Huh...that was weird. Now...maybe I should walk to the mountain. I look around, I'm not anywhere near the fallen trees... Forward."

I command myself walking in the direction I was traveling in.

*****

Kitari: "Oh. My. Tripping data..."

Do not mind the little comment. But what I am seeing here...I think it's called...a...canyon? No, it's not that big...a ravine? Father was a librarian, and so he teaches us kid villagers and me all kinds of things. Just thinking about him and my home, led from one thing to another. Next thing I know...

Kitari: "*sniff...sniff*...Father...Mother...no...I shouldn't cry. I will not cry...!"

I furiously wipe away my tears and look around what I think is a ravine.

Kitari: "There are some trees...maybe I could tree bunt...?"

I stare at the big crack in the ground, it was sort of wide...I hope I can jump far enough. Mother said foxes can jump far, and if they were like us, they'd probably tree bunt too. Mother...no! I need to focus! I climb up the tree and stand on top. The branches stretch over around half of the ravine. I lean over to the edge of the tree and take a leap.

Kitari: "Hah...there! Didn't even hurt-"

I start flashing red. But it didn't do much damage as the last one did. I look up. I was standing almost, like...right in front of the mountain.

Kitari: "Okay...next...mountain climbing!"
