{Chapter 1: I Promise}
"It's not gonna work out." She said with a straight face, not even blinking.
"B-but how'd you know it's not gonna work out? I mean, we haven't tried it yet" I ran my fingers through my hair. I'm desperate. I don't know what to do. I don't even know why I fell in love with this cold blooded girl.
"I don't know. I think it's too stupid of you to ask me to be your girlfriend. That's just ridiculous" she then left and didn't look back while I'm here sitting inside the library, dazed of what had just happened. 'She rejected me.' I whispered, holding back the tears. My friends were right; I should've never told her I like her. If I never did that, she might be still here sitting beside me while reading a book. I could still watch her run her fingers on the pages. I buried my face on my palms.
Who is she anyway? Oh, yeah. She's the girl I've liked for almost a year now. She's this very stubborn little lady who loves to make me feel frustrated every single day I'm with her. She's the top student of the seniors and I think that's why she's lost her feelings.
Even if you're in the middle of a crowd, she'd be the first one you'll notice because she has these, large charming eyes that when she stares at you, she's like staring right through your soul. She's a very special girl to me. She's Im Ga Eun.
(A/N:yeah, I'm gonna leave her face up to your imagination. I suck at describing faces. Sorry~ *bows*)
Weeks have passed, but I'm still not over her. It's much lonelier because she's avoiding me. She even changed her seat just to prevent me from bugging her. It's so sad. It's like I've given her the ticket to go away. Well, how could I ever blame her if it was me who ran after her and annoyed the shit out of her?
I went to the library after class, just wondering if Ga Eun would be there. I miss her so much.
I looked around the library for a second then I spotted her. There she was at the table where we used to hang out, reading another unknown book. Aish. This is gonna be hard. 'She's too focused. I bet she'll never notice me if I sit beside her.' I thought.
So I did.
I was just about to touch the chair when she said; "that seat is already taken," without even looking up.
"S-sorry." I bowed my head and turned around to leave.
"Yah! I was just kidding, stupid. You can sit down" she said. Tss. So rude this girl is! I sighed and sat down. Now what?
"Tsk! You know what, I hate this book. It's too boring." She closed the book a little too strong.
"Why, what's wrong?"
"I think the author does not have enough experience in love. You see, every book of romance is more interesting if the author have written it by experience. In that case, the author would be able to write it with passion, thus, if the story is bitter or sweet, it would come out naturally, not exaggerated or too boring because what the author would be writing is more true to life, everyone can relate."
She looked at me. I must be looking at her with puzzlement. Can you blame me? One moment, she's ignoring me then after a little while, she's not. Aish! This girl!
I mentally ruffled my hair in frustration.
"Ilhoon-ah, did you get my point?"
I nodded. "What if the author did have an experience and it's the reader who needs experience?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Jung Ilhoon, I need no experience to tell if the book is good or not."
"Ooookay" I shrugged, "So, if I'm gonna read a romantic book, what would you recommend then?"
She pouted and started to think. "Hmm... I don't know. I haven't read a romantic book that sent shivers down my spine or made my tummy feel like it's filled with fluttering butterflies."
"Sheesh. That's because you've never had any experience with love. How can you relate?"
I think I just hit a nerve. She glared me down so I immediately shut myself up. I looked down at the table.
"If this is still about me, letting you down," she paused. I thought she was going to slap me real hard, but... "I'm sorry. Okay?"
What did I just heard? Did this egoistical girl say SORRY? I looked up and met her eyes.
She's blushing. I can't stop smiling. She's so cute and it's the first time I saw her like this.
"Don't laugh at me!" She shouted and caught the attention of the librarian. "Shhhhhh!"
It made her blush even more. I silently laughed at her then she managed to pound my arm with the hardbound book she was reading earlier.
"Ouch! It hurts~ I think it bruised. ah~"
"Eh? It did? I'm so sorry! Let me look at it."
I showed her my poor arm and it was so red. She touched it and I faked a wince.
"Shit! I'm Sorry!"
She looked up at me and caught me laughing. She blushed again and hit me on the same arm again. This time, it really is painful.
"Ahhh~ Oh my gosh. It hurts, really! Why are you so strong? Who are you, the Hulk?"
"You deserve that, so suffer!"
She quickly packed her things and walked towards the exit. I followed her with my eyes until her figure was gone. I sighed with satisfaction. Well, getting hit by a hardbound book on the same arm is better than not talking to her, right?
I was about to go home when I noticed the book on the table which Ga Eun was reading so I decided to borrow it and try to check it if it's really boring.
When I got home, I found BtoB watching a horror film. What are they doing in my home? We live together. Every one of us got kicked out by our parents because of our behaviour so yeah. It kind of helped because all of us learn the sense of responsibility, cooperation and the most important of all, learning how to relate with other people.
"Yah, Ilhoon~ how's your day?" Eunkwang asked. He's kind of our father and he's the owner of this house.
"It went perfectly fine" I sighed happily.
"Eunkwang Hyung! I think Ilhoon got back with his girlfriend!" Our maknae, Sungjae, shouted and everybody stopped watching and turned their attention to me. Tch. I think it's because they haven't got any girlfriend since birth.
"Shut up! She's not my girlfriend... Yet"
"Wait, are you talking about Ga Eun? Didn't she break your little heart already?" Minhyuk asked with a bit of disappointment in his tone.
I nodded "but I promise I'll get her this time. And if not, I'm not gonna cry or sulk. I'll just keep it to myself." I assured, but I doubted that she'll reject me twice.
"You better get her this time. You are so loud and ugly when you cry! I can't sleep properly." Changsub complained.
"Not to mention when he drinks alcohol! He cries a lot and tries to kiss us, right Peniel?" Hunsik added and Peniel nodded and shivered like he just remembered something disgusting.
"I do that?" I asked in disbelief.
"YES!" They said in unison. I felt my cheeks heating up with embarrassment. Stupid stupid stupid!
"Okay. I'm not gonna do that again. And I, Jung Ilhoon, promise to make Im Ga Eun fall in love with me."
