They sat in silence for most of the ride to school.
Parker tried not to show that he was nervous, but the tremors in his hands made it unbearably obvious.
Harry cleared his throat and shifted in his seat, giving him the side eye in the process.
"I'm new here." He said, bravely trying to get over the awkwardness between them.
Parker nodded simply and glanced in his direction.
Harry took this as sign to keep talking.
He droned on about how he moved here, why he was excited to be here, what kind of classes he was looking forward to...yada yada yada.
Parker didn't really care that much since this guy would probably move on to find someone else to talk to.
He'd find out sooner than later that Parker was hated at school and join in.
For some reason that stung.
Parker took a good look at him for the first time since they had met while Harry went on about how lucky he was or something.
What stood out to him was the dark curly hair.
It suited him.
It wasn't much unlike his own except Parker's was shorter and a dirty blonde color.
A color he desperately hated on himself.
"You don't talk much, do you?" Harry said as the bus pulled into the unloading zone.
Parker shook his head.
He had decided not speak unless it was absolutely necessary.
It was easier that way.
"What class do you have?" He asked while they both were gathering their things.
Parker fumbled with his schedule and relunctantly handed it over.
He was unsure if he'd get it back considering what used to happen.
They'd take it from him and he would have no clue where to go until he got another one from the office, then they'd take it again.
"Oh hey, we have a similar schedule. There is only two classes we don't have togther." Harry grinned and handed it back, casually stepping off the bus.
Parker stared at him in disbelief.
"Let's walk to first period then." He turned and headed off in some random direction.
He stopped and turned back to Parker.
"I don't know where I'm going..." He said sheepishly.
Parker chuckled quietly as he lead him the right way.
++++
The first couple of classes were a breeze.
Nobody bothered Parker, and that was relieving.
Harry had sat with him for the first few, but then they were separated by a class until lunch.
Parker always carried a lunch with him because the lunch line was undeniably dangerous.
He had a spot where nobody would bother him and he could see the entire courtyard.
Granted, it was a tiny corner, but it had a willow tree whose branches partially hid him.
Now, that corner had a reputaion before he had claimed it as his own.
Couples could frequently be seen there doing whatever it is couples do.
