Callie woke up with a shiver as the window her head was against, was fogged by her warm breath. "Honey, we're home." Her mom said as she got out of the car, closing the door. Ashton jumped out of the truck, running around the property with his transformers toy that he got for his birthday two years ago.
Callie huffed as she turned off her iPod, shoving it in her backpack as she got out of the car. Her parents were already working on unloading the boxes as Ashton was making airplane noises with his toy. "Aren't you a bit old for that, Ash!?" Callie yelled a question to him as he stopped dead in his tracks, tongue sticking out.
"Nope!" He answered.
She shook her head with a smile. "Ten year olds." She murmured as she glanced around their new house. It was a two story, like their previous one. Mom told her that there was a pool, so that sparked Callie's interest. Callie realized at how dark it was. "Hey, uh...Dad? What time is it?" She asked. With a muffled '5:13,' Callie was about to step inside the house as she noticed a hooded figure walk by.
The figure appeared to be female, as she was watching Callie's parents unload boxes. "Go! Bumblebee!" Ashton yelled as he threw the yellow transformer into the air, hitting the girl in the head.
Ouch,
Callie said in her mind, lips pursed as the hooded girl gently held her head with one hand, covering where she was hit. With her free hand, the girl picked up Bumblebee, handing him over to Ashton who came up to her apologizing. She shook her head, a bright white smile that shone in the darkness of her hood.
The girl knelt on one knee, talking to Ashton with hands in pockets. By the looks of Ashton's wide grin as he showed off his toy, Callie could hear bit and pieces of what they were saying. "What!?" Ashton shrieked. "Deceptacons are SO not better that autobots!"
Then she heard it. A soothing laugh emitting from the girl as Ashton gave her a mocking annoyed look. After a few more minutes of enjoying herself, the girl coughed, then proceeding to talk with Callie's brother. "...who's...family new....right?" Was all Callie could gather due to her poor hearing. Or because she was pretty far from those two.
Ashton told the girl about his family and pointed to Callie who was watching from the house porch. The girl stood up and looked at Callie, waving gently. It brought a blush to her face that she was seen so easily. Shyly, she raised a hand as well, waving back.
"Excuse me, kiddo." Callie's father said with a grunt as he walked up the porch's steps, Callie opening the door for him. Her mother follow right behind, speaking quietly. "Don't be rude!" Her mother said with a smile. "Go greet that person. You can't let Ashton beat you at this kind of stuff."
Callie dropped her bag on the floor as she jumped the porch's steps, running up to Ashton. By then, Ashton gave the girl a smile, giving her a goodbye wave as she did the same. Before the girl turned around completely, she looked straight into Callie's eyes, startling her a bit.
The girl's eyes were a dark grey, and her black hair was lazily tied in a ponytail-- sporty looking, even. She flashed Callie a smile as she pulled her hood more over her face, turning and walking away.
Self conscience all of a sudden, Callie pulled back her thick purple hair behind her shoulders. "Who was that, Ash?" She asked her brother, eyes still on the retreating figure. "She said her name was Alix Rundell. And she likes transformers!" He exclaimed excitedly, clutching Bumblebee tightly in his hands.
Callie placed her hands on her hips, blowing her hair out of her face when the wind blew it around. "What'd she look like?" She asked, curiously. "Oh, you know...black hair kinda deal, likes sports, has these cool spongebob look-a-like glasses that he wore during jellyfishing! And she has braces. It actually suits her, they're all blue and silver."
Callie made a 'mm..' sound as she pondered, imagining those feature on the girl. "She said that she's going to get rainbow again next month for her braces!" Ashton scooted closer to his sister. "I think I made a new friend.." He whispered to her as he held Bumblebee in the air, making airplane noises as he ran inside the house.
"FOR STEELE!" He yelled across the lawn, making Callie's eyes widen.
That's one of the neighboring schools from Archeman. Perhaps I can see her again once I resume school. But...man! It's gonna be tough to adjust in this place. Just look at all these trees!
