I remember seeing you that quiet evening,

At the park, surrounded by friends,

Graciously warming the air around you,

I watched you dance with the skies,

As you leaped for joy like a child,

With empty words, I made a thousand wishes,

While listening to the pregnant silence between us,

'cos I admired the sun on your eyes,

The wrinkles around your tiny eyes,

As they shut in the happiest laughter ever,

The pink blush on your round chubby cheeks,

And the dimples that seemed to compete,

I remember we were only ten feet apart,

But I was too shy to say hi-

So I walked away, leaving you and us,

In this world where we are yet to meet.
