All three of them walked on a single file through a narrow hallway towards RJ's office. He opened the door for both ladies and Liv walked in first, her arms crossed over her chest, scowling. He waited for Maine to step into the office too but she wasn't moving.
"Maine, halika na." He said, urging her to come in, one hand on the small of her back, a worried look crossing his face.
"Uhm...RJ, I think it's best that you two talk this out. I know it's been six years but I think you both need closure. Well, she more than you, but still. And I don't think having me in there will help." She said softly, realizing that this would the best time for RJ to answers for the questions she felt he had been nursing for years.
"But Maine..."
"RJ, I trust you. This will help you figure things out. Talk to her so we can all move forward. Sige na." she lightly put her hand over his chest, feeling his heartbeat quicken beneath her palm. "Please?"
"Maine.." He pleaded, covering her hand with his. "I don't want you think that Liv and I have the slightest chance of getting back together. There's no need to choose. Ikaw lang. You have to know that."
"Kahit na. I still want you to talk to her. You haven't talked to her in 6 years. Malay mo..."
"No way. Maine... Sige na, please. Pumasok ka na."
"You got this. Dito lang ako sa labas. I'll see you in a bit, ok?" she said, lightly pushing him inside and holding the knob. She saw Liv smile triumphantly as she closed the door.

She walked back to their table and finished her coffee. She kept herself busy by browsing through social media until she realized that it had already been 30 minutes.
What could they have been talking about? They should have already been wrapping up their conversation by now. What is happening? She thought, feeling a bout of insecurity consume her. She couldn't help but compare how plain she was next to Liv, a model no less.
Lord, I trust RJ. Pero I don't trust Liv. What if...what if...? What if she convinces RJ to get back together? Pero he wouldn't do that naman? Sabi nya ako lang, diba? Pero what if he did? Liv is a model. She's gorgeous, anong laban ko sa model? Pero RJ is a gentleman, he wouldn't just let me hanging, right? He would have the decency to go out of his office and talk to me. Pero what if they're already making out? Aarrrgh. Mukha na kong tanga dito. I have to get out of here. Napapraning lang ako dito!
She took one last look at his office door, willing for it to open, before standing up. She picked up her purse and left. She got into her car, turned off her phone and drove away aimlessly not knowing exactly where to go. All she wanted was to get out of there and take her mind off thinking all these negative, insecure, paranoid thoughts.
She needed a distraction. Driving should help.

"Liv, how many times do I have to tell you? I've moved on. It's been six years, susmaryosep naman. I'm happy now. I'm happy with Maine." He had been trying to tell her this for the past couple of minutes and he was already running out of patience. He had been pacing his office back and forth since they started talking.
"No. You just can't go and falling in love with somebody else. You love me. I know you still do," Live said arrogantly, her arms still crossed over her chest, sitting on the couch. "Because I still love you. And that's all that matters. I forgive you. I'm sorry din na pinaghintay kita. Pero please just give us another chance. We can make it work this time. I promise."
