CHAPTER 15

Turns out I didn't see him when he got back. Or the next day. Or the day after. I had gotten into a kind of routine. I was accepted in Occidental College, and I had bought the required books. I had shifted in with Hunter with the help of some of the girls who were too eager to help the Luna. I had sort of made friends. Alison, a little firecracker, a rather tall brunette with dark brown eyes, she was mated to a guy named Matt, who was a little shorter than her, but was built like a wrestler. She had been the first to approach me when I was in my previous room, packing. When I had accepted, her friends, Maya and Janet, equally loud and boisterous, had tagged along. Maya and Janet were both blondes, but where the former was petite with blue eyes the color of cerulean sky, the latter was tall (not as tall as Alison) with light brown eyes. They had helped me pack my stuff, which included nothing but some clothes and accessories. And Harry, Maya's mate, tall handsome man with shaggy brownish golden hair and piercing blue eyes, had brought the bag upstairs. Turns out, it was the first time they had seen this place.

That had bee a almost two weeks ago. Hunter would come and go like lightning. He greeted me, asked after me and then left to his room, changed his clothes and then would go out again. I had never seen Hunter in a suit. But he wears that for work everyday. And he looks handsome all the time, but in a suit, my breath caught just thinking about it, he was magnificent.

Cassidy was also here, I found that out when I had already moved in, I don't know why but I had almost forgotten about her. She too like her brother ignored me, which, for now, I was thankful for.

My studies were going well, I was having some trouble in microbiology, but looking at some videos had helped. My room was much bigger than the last one. With my own LCD TV, a small sitting area and a luxurious bathroom. Everything was looking good, except my mate. He was avoiding me. And I missed him. His kisses, his teasing. But I didn't know what to do. I wasn't much experienced in this department, but I hoped Janet would help. She and I were going out in a little while, to shopping. Allison and Maya were spending time with their mates since it was a Sunday and they were all off work. Maya was an elementary school teacher, she was in her late twenties, and her husband was the football coach. That's how they had met. Harry had been a human, but Maya had marked him and completed the mating bond so he was immortal as well. I didn't know if I was immortal since Hunter and I hadn't completed the process, but I didn't ask. Alison and Matt were from here and they had always known they were mates. Janet was single, hence she had taken it upon herself to 'make me come out of my shell', her words. She was 24 and worked as a receptionist in CMV, but she wasn't on Hunter's floor.

At last I finished my assignment and decided to get ready. I wore tight tank top under a cut pink crop top, with blue skinny jeans, after I put on my shoes I headed out of the room. No one was here. Even Cassie was out, I had heard her talking to some friends to meet her at the fair. I descended the stairs and went to Janet's room. Janet was the only one here. Both the other girls had their own places among the condos like Hunter's, but they liked to spent most of their free time in the Pack House.

I knocked on the door and after hearing Janet holler a 'come in', I entered. Her room was a disaster, clothes strewn everywhere. She was standing at her dressing table, curling her hair.

"Hey Ari." she waved the wand.

"Hi. You're not ready yet?" I made some space on the bed and took a seat.

"It will just take me like two minutes. I'm having a bad hair day."

I didn't believe her. She was looking gorgeous, her tall slender figure encased in a short white summer dress with a thin brown belt around the waist, her long tanned legs on display, with high-heeled ankle boots.
