In a far off town lived a young boy named Micah Makuda. His father was mostly away on trips and his mother stayed home and wrote books on his father's journeys. Whenever his mother would write he would go into his room and practice making origami roses for his mother since she loved them so much.

Right now Micah's mother ,Rosalyn, was busy writing which left him to work on his origami skills. He rushed to his room and through the door open.

'I'm so close to perfecting it!' He thought happily as a smile spread on his face.

He rushed to his desk and struggled a bit to hop into his chair in front of his desk. Once he managed to get on the chair he began to work on another origami rose.

Micah finished his rose and looked at it with a hand holding his chin. "Hmm I think I did it!" He cheered.

He grabbed the rose in his hand and raced out of his room excitedly to show his mother the rose.

"Mom! Mom! Mom!" He chirped as he ran over to her.

He stopped in his tracks as he saw a second shadow next to his mothers. He pushed the door open more to reveal his father talking to his mother, well more like yelling.

"I can't take care of Micah anymore! I have to go on journeys and all he does is drag me behind by making me come here just to see him!" His father yelled at his mother.

"Jack calm down," Rosalyn said calmly as she placed a hand on his father's shoulder.

"D-daddy?" Micah called quietly as he walked into the room.

His father turned to him and glared. "Micah get out."

"But daddy what's going on? Why are you yelling at mommy?" He asked as he held the rose close to him.

His father slapped Rosalyn's hand off his shoulder and stomped towards Micah.

Micah hesitated as his father gripped his shoulders roughly and shook him a bit.

"Listen to me and get out! Get out of this room and out of my life got it?! Ever since you were born you've been a hassle and an obstacle in my hobby!" His father yelled at him.

Micah's eyes became dull in fear as his father yelled at him. Tears stung his eyes as he trembled.

"B-But I made mommy a rose," he said as he lifted up his cupped hands, showing his origami rose.

"I don't care!" His father yelled as he grabbed the rose.

"Daddy no!" Micah screamed out as he reached for the Rose.

But his father had ripped and crushed the Rose in his hand and let the pieces fall to the ground.

Micah widened his eyes and watched as the pieces of paper fell. His eyes glossed with tears and he began to sniffle.

'Why did daddy do that? He want me out of his life? I'm an obstacle?' He thought as he fell to his knees, sobbing.

He cried as he picked up a few pieces of the Rose.

"Now leave Micah!" Jack yelled as he scoffed and turned back to Roselyn.

Micah wiped his tears away with his sleeve and raced out of the room.

He raced into his bedroom and crawled onto his bed, shoving his face into his pillow as he cried.

'I worked so hard on that rose for mommy' he thought as he cried.

||a few weeks later||
Micah's father had went off on his journey, leaving Micah and his mother alone. So far it has been a few weeks since his father left and he's noticed his mother has grown weak.

"Momma? You okay?" He asked as he tugged lightly on her dress and looked up at her.

Rosalyn smiled and nodded her head as he pet Micah's head. "Of course I'm okay Micah. I'll make some lunch and you go make some more origami roses okay?"

"Okay!" Micah chimed happily as he let go of her dress and raced off to go and get some colored paper.

Rosalyn laughed as she watched him but then soon the laughter turned to violent coughing.

Micah heard the coughing and rushed back to her only to see that she had fallen onto the floor.

"Momma!" Micah exclaimed as he rushed over and went on his knees.

Rosalyn didn't respond so Micah quickly raced out of the mansion to search for some help.

It turned out that Micah's mother had gotten a sickness that was not yet curable. But Micah didn't understand what sickness was at the age he was. Right now his mother was resting in her bed breathing quite heavily.

Micah knocked softly on her door before coming into the room. "Hi mommy."

His mother smiled at him warmly. "Hi sweetie."

Micah smiled and put his hands behind his back. "Guess what I made you!"

"What?" She asked trying her best to act curious since she already knew what it was.

Micah grinned and held out one of his origami roses. "Here!"

His mother smiled and coughed a few harsh coughs before looking back back at Micah. "It looks more creative than the last one."

He smiled and placed the rose into his mother's hand. "I'll be back alright! I wanna show you how I make them!"

"Alright," his mother said with a small nod.

Micah grinned once more and raced out of the room to grab an origami paper to show his mother how to make them. But what he didn't know was that it would be too late once he returned.

Once he grabbed his paper , he raced back to the room giddily.

He pushed the door open and looked at his mom with sparkling eyes. "Mom see watc-"

He stopped and froze in mid-step. His eyes focused on his mom and then on his origami rose on the ground by her bed.

He trembled and held onto his paper tightly. "M-mommy?"

He walked up to her bedside and held her hand on his. "Mommy . . Are you ready to see?" He asked in a shaking voice.

His mother didn't respond however and her eyes had lost the life within them. Leaving her eyes dull and filled with a sign of death.

Micah couldn't hold back his tears as he fell on his knees by her bedside and began to sob.

Later on the guards had found the queen dead. They tried to contact Micah's father but they couldn't contact him at all. So Micah now lives alone in his castle with a garden filled with flowers.
