Seeing Mom

I walked with dad and Maria through the bland people and the bland gray town. Most people would call it a village since, well, all the houses are made of wood, nothing really interesting about it. Just a small and un colorful place to be. The paranoid people's eyes seemed unfocused, usually looking left and right for a while expecting a monster to pop out of anywhere and kill us all. "Dad, are you sure it's safe going out the town? There are monsters out there." I asked paranoid. "Do you want to see mom or not. You can leave if you want to. The town isn't even safer than the forest." He huffed. I know that dad is rude and all, well, not really rude. Maybe a little less rude with a hint of annoyance? But, to take me and my sister outside of the town without batting an eye of concern for our safety makes me quite angry. "Don't worry Cyan," Maria glanced at me with her life full eyes,"I know how to deal with them. I'm in the army remember?" She smiled cheerfully. "Well, I guess that's true. But your a girl, shouldn't I be the one protecting us?" She looked back at the town that we are now far away from but, I know that she is still paying attention to me,"Maybe when you're older." "Not to mention that you'd just run away from them monsters, calling for dear sister even if you did training." Dad commented. He didn't laugh but I can tell he found humor in his comment. Sigh. I looked toward the red and orange forest. The place may be pretty but, it's also dangerous. I clutched the hole in my old cyan jacket, trying to protect the cold air from coming through. It doesn't help at all. For each step I took I heard a crunch from the fallen dead leaves. The graveyard is really far away. Maria gripped onto the bouquet of roses tighter with a determined look on her face. I don't know what exactly she would be determined about. Maybe determined to see mom? Or maybe it wasn't determination at all. Maybe she's getting ready to attack any monsters that might appear. I shivered, and this time it wasn't from the cool breeze. I heard from people that fought against them, that the monsters looks like demons summoned from hell. The grim color of black covers all over their body with black spikes piercing through their skin. I heard that they are mindless with only the thought of murder and flesh in their memories. A person said that those descriptions are not exaggerated enough. I'm afraid that the monsters might hear the sound of us walking and come attack us. But that's ok! Maria will kill it and it would be no problem for her! But... What if she dies? I shook the thought off unwilling to continue thinking. Dad noticed and ignored. Maria rested her hand on my shoulder,"You'll be fine." She said comfortingly. My face turned redder than it was knowing that she noticed,"I'm fine, you don't have to treat me like a child." "But you are a child." She smiled again.

At the graveyard~

We have finally reached to mom's resting place. The graveyard's aura isn't much different from where I live. Maria placed the roses upon mom's bed. The roses are going to die anyways, why couldn't we give her something that can last for a very long time?
