"Don't worry I'll never leave you Jiyeon ah."
I looked up at my Eomma as she played with my hair as i laid in her lap.
I chuckled as she tickled me.
"I love you Eomma."
She kissed my forehead gently and I smiled.
Our conversation was interrupted as the door flung open to my bedroom.
I picked my head off of my eomma's lap and squinted at the figure coming towards us.
I squeezed my eyes to find it was my father.
He lumbered towards us and sat down next to my Eomma.
I looked up at my Eomma who's smile had faded as she stood up from off the floor dusting off her dress.
"Jiyeon ah go get the mail would you?"
"Dae appa."
I beamed at my Eomma as I waved off.
I jumped down the staircase and sprinted towards the front door.
I skipped towards the mailbox and opened it to find we didn't have any mail.
I shut it and skipped back into the house.
I lumbered towards the kitchen to check the home phone.
It was Sunday we don't receive mail Sunday.
Hmm why'd I have to get mail if we don't get mail today?
I dragged my feet up the staircase and was about to enter my eomma's bedroom until I heard a sound.
SLAP!
I peeked inside the closed door and slightly pushed it open.
I looked in to find my eomma's once nice pretty dress was now torn and a mark was on her face.
"Leave this house and take Jiyeon I don't want to be here for her!"
"She's only ten years old BeomSeok how can you leave us at this time?!"
I heard my Eomma sob as I watched her get on her knees and beg.
My father kicked her causing her to fall down, she welped in pain.
"I don't love you and I never will, Jiyeon ah can go with you. I hate you and I want you out."
I pushed open the door and stood in the doorway as a tear rolled down my cheek.
I didn't understand what was going on but I didn't like seeing my Eomma crying.
My Eomma quickly stood up and I noticed a pained smile across her face.
"Appa shi why is Eomma cry..."
My father kicked my Eomma causing her to fall down again as he shoved me towards her.
I watched as he exited the bedroom slamming the door shut.
I sat down next to my Eomma and cupped her cheek.
"Eomma why did appa shi kick you?"
My Eomma forced a chuckle as tears streamed down her face.
She pulled me into a hug as we sat on the floor.
