Gil was out in the feild with Toni gathering some food when they heatd Ludwigs voice.
"Gilbert you should be inside of the villiage." Gil stood up.
"Don't bruder we'll be alright."
"Si~ we're gathering food for when the warriors arrive." Toni said Gil looked down and noticed the lack of food in his bascket and hid it behind his back.
"Don't go far now is not zhe time to be running off."
"Alright bruder." Ludwig just smiled down at his brother admiring the iron cross around his neck.
"Vhen i see you vear zhat necklace you remind me of vatti." Gil grabbed onto the iron cross around his neck and smiled.
"I miss him." Gil looked up at Ludwig. Ludwig put his hands on Gils shoulders.
"I do to but i know he is with us everytime the wind blows I sense his spirit is with us, our people look to him for guidencee and one day they will look up to you as well." Gil smiled softly up at Ludwig.
"I vould be honored by zhat and zhey should be honored as vell to be under such great conrtol of me." Ludwig sighed "Relax brother I'm just kidding I swear."
"Alright well it's too dangerous for you to be out here by yourself i'll send for Vladimir." Ludwig walked off and Toni made sure he was safe enough distance away.
"Alright what is it amigo!?" Toni asked very sternly.
"Vhat?!"
"Ju are hiding something."
"Vhat?! I'm not hiding anyzhing."
"Gil ju can tell me anything i wont tell anyone I promise," Toni turned his head to see a small yellow haired boy coming through the corn feild, Toni gasped "Gil look!" Gil turned around to see shy little Matthew standing there. "It's one of them I'll go get-" Gils eyes widened and he rushed to cover Toni's mouth. "VHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Gil said in an undertone. Toni's eyes went wide with shock and mumbled under Gils hand.
"I-I'm sorry i had to see you again.."
"AGAIN?!" Toni's muffled under Gil's hand which covered his hand.
"Gilbert?"Vladimir called from a distance heading towards them. Gil and Toni gasped. "Gilbert!?" Vladimir called again
"Please don't say anyzhing." Gil whispered to Toni taking hid hand off his mouth and grabbing Matt's hand "Come on this way!" Gil whispered leaving with Matt through the corn field.
"Antonio," Vladimir said approaching Toni "Where's Gilbert?"
"I-I haven't seen him amigo..."
Vladimir sighed "He can't keep running off, it's dangerous out there," he began to turn to walk away "Tell him that he listens to you." He finished and walked away.
Toni scoffed and rolled "Sì he does." he said with sarcastically and walked back to the village.

They were walking to grandmother Liz, Matt of course is not aware the tree is alive.
Matt sighed astonished "This land is so amazing and just to think we came all this way just to dig it up for gold."
