Showing your parents something you're really proud of only to get a disinterested reply is the reason why I don't communicate with them anymore. Like, I'm trying to tell you that I aced my math test and you'll reply in a disinterested tone and wave me off saying you're watching TV so I'd better be quiet.
Then they'll say I'm so rude for ignoring them and that I don't want to be a part of the family. Well, you ignored me first, making me feel like I'm not part of the family, so yeah it's my fault. Sorry.
