I opened my eyes to the white ceiling above me.My gaze soft, I still feel soft and sensitive as I had before.
"Didn't work, did it?" I ask.
"Of course not!" A familiar girl says as she lifts her hand to my cheek, caressing softly.
I can't help but be in awe of her beauty, we seem to stare into each other's eyes before we realize that we were both crying.
Not sobbing, though, our eyes were simply brimmed and glazed with warm, thick tears.
Hers reflected the warm, beautiful sunshine that had shone through the window.
Everything about her was warm and soothing.
"Why-" My husky voice started. "Why did it not work, Suzuka?"
"I wouldn't let it, Gaki." She says, running her fingers through my soft, curly hair.
I chuckle lightly and smirk.
"What now?" I ask.
"Kitsune-sama will allow us to live in this dimension, he hasn't told us anything else, but I know that there's some sort of catch." Suzuka says, happy for me being alive, but worried.
"He won't do bad things to us, Suzuka." I spoke calmly, interlocking my fingers with hers.
"You-" Suzuka's voice croaked. "You almost died, Gaki."
"But I didn't."
"Wh- what?"
"I didn't. And I won't. Trust me when I say I'll be okay as long as you are."
