Position Description

Critics provide you with critiques that evaluate texts based on certain criteria. A critique is not to be confused with criticism. 'Criticism' sounds negative, whereas critics will provide you with positive feedback on your text as well. They will give you feedback on a story in a detailed and thorough fashion. In this feedback, they will analyze elements of your texts such as the theme, the flow, the expression, the writing style and technique and will provide you with ways you could improve. While it is a critic's job to provide you with judgement, they are not in any way rude. They simply give you what you need to work on. A good critic does not bother to sugarcoat their comments, as a sugarcoated comment may come off nicer, but may not get across the message they are trying to convey.
