Down Below

A loud clang echoed throughout the rom as a little girl discarded a bloodied sword. The disturbance was followed by short pants, chilly breaths released into the air surrounding her.

The queer smell of blood stung her nose, but she paid no mind... yes, this was nothing. For a man as sinful as he, no, he is no longer needed.

It was right to kill him while she could.

The girl's lips cracked into a maniacal smile, and a loud, piercing laugh broke the silence of breathing.

The door creaked open to reveal a tired woman, thin and barely ever pleased with anything, a terrified expression drawn on her aged face. The girl's eyes snapped to where the sound had come from.

"C-Cloe... what..."

Not another sound... no. She would never speak again as the raven-haired child picked up the sword and stabbed the woman right in the middle. Wordlessly, swiftly, without even caring.

She left the woman laying limp with her blood soaking the wooden floor. In her eyes that woman was nothing but trash- trash that had needed to be taken care of.

Her torn, lilac dress reddened with the sinful, increasingly familiar stains of freshly drawn blood as she continued to slay everything in her path.

She may be a lost cause, too far into the windows of insanity, but a mindless, curse-driven victim like her knew that she needed to be confined. That was the will of what was left of her hope.

She knew that she could never truly be hidden, but her corrupted spirit wanted to see all the adults try.

They would play hide and seek.

They would not find her.

Not in the farthest reaches of the mansion.

Not in the room guarded by spears and a madman's spirit.

Not with the cross down below...

Even if the last tiny bit of herself screamed at the curse to stop, her tears would fall endlessly in her thorn-clad heart, words never reaching the curse eating her from inside and out.

She could only utter calls for salvation.

Won't somebody come and save her?

Author's Note: WOW that was a short one...

But hey, it's the first Cloe's Requiem fanfic in a while.

I did this half-assed thing while I was still in school (with a few modifications as I actually started typing), it was recess and I didn't have anything. I was so hungry...

Then the shit hit the fan and I had to take the scheduled Math quiz. Huh.

Disclaimer: Cloe's Requiem belongs to Buriki Clock and I OWN NOTHING.
