"Sydney!" She turned and looked back at me. "I love you."

"I love you too Daddy!" She smiled and waved and then proceeded back to running into the school.

I smiled and then proceeded to make my way to find a pay phone. I knew that I only had a few minutes left to make it there before my time would be up.

I ran a couple of miles until I found a pay phone. When I got there, it was a couple of people in front of me. No choice but to wait. I casually asked for the time every now and then as well.

It was 8:34 when I got a chance to get to the phone. I put my money in and the phone ended up taking one of my quarters and not counting it. "Can someone spare me a quarter?" I asked.

"Don't have one for you."

"Man, you should've had your money ready!"

"I did okay, the machine just took mine. Listen I'm not moving until you guys give me one!" I yelled and caused a fuss.

"Are you guys serious? Give the man a quarter!"

"How about you give him one then?"

The old lady walked over to me and gave me one. I thanked her and proceeded with my call. I looked to the card for the number. I only hoped I wasn't wasting my time doing this.

"Rough Managment, the one and only Sage Rough speaking. How may I help you?"

"Ms. Rough, uh, this is Patrick Buxton. You remember me from the club?"

"Ah, Patrick... I do. Didn't think you would call since its past time."

"I'm sorry. I ran into a few obstacles.."

"Excuses are no good for me. For all I know it could be a lie," she mentioned kind of harshly.

"No ma'am.."

"Don't make me think you're not serious about this Mr. Buxton. I don't have time to be playing around. Now, if you want me to know that you're serious about this-- be on time for your meeting. Tomorrow at 5.. Either you're coming or you're not. No excuses. Use the card and refer to that address. Nothing else. I hope to see you there." She said as she hung up the phone. I didn't get a chance to say anything else but I would make it my business to be there.

I placed the phone back on the hook. Everyone around me mumbled things under their breath but I wasn't worried. I actually smiled. I just thought of all the ways my life could change and what I'd be able to do.

I walked away from the payphone and begin on my daily journey. I walked back home to gather Sydney and my clothes to take to the laundromat to wash. The money I made last night would be used for that, food and to give to Charlie for letting us stay here for a while. I didn't know if Sage Rough was selling me a dream, but I was most definitely buying it right now.
