My eyes slowly open and as I regain my vision I look around confused to see Ethan sitting in the chair next to the hospital bed I'm laying in. "What happened?" I say rubbing my head. "You were in a car accident." He says looking at the ground. I bring my hand up to the top of my head and feel staples. "Is it bad?" I ask. "You still look beautiful", he says looking up at me. I smile, then feel the warmth of his hand grasping mine. "Amanda im sorry. The reason I left you is because I was afraid of losing you. You're the most amazing and beautiful girl I've ever met in my entire life and I could never live with myself if I hurt you." Ethan says. I could hear the strain in his voice. "I'm always gunna be here for you no matter what Ethan. You're my everything and I love you." I blurted, my eyes beginning to fill up with tears. Ethan's face brightened with his adorable smile. "I love you too", he said as he leaned closer to me, "Amanda Carrie Johnson, will you be my girlfriend?" "Of corse!", I said smiling, a tear falling down my face. He leaned forward even more and kissed me. At that moment Grayson walked in to see us kissing. "Umm hey guys, what's going on here?", Grayson laughed "shut up gray", Ethan blushed. "Hey you wanna go down to the cafeteria and get some food? I'm starving." Grayson said grabbing his stomach. "Sure" Ethan said, then turned towards me, " do you want anything?",  he asked, "no I'm fine but thanks", I say. "Alright, I'll be right back baby", Ethan replays kissing my four head. A few minutes after Ethan and Grayson walk to the cafeteria, a nurse walks in. "Ms. Johnson?", she asks holding a clipboard up to her chest. "That's me", I reply with a sigh. "Your father is here to see you". I froze. I sat  there, staring at her in disbelief. I hadn't seen my dad since I was 4. When my parents had gotten a divorce, I went to live with my grandma. My dad was an alcoholic and my mom was in therapy for drug use. They were separated for a while before they had gotten their divorce. A few weeks after the divorce, my grandma had gotten the news that my mom ( Rachel Maryland) had committed suicide. 6 months after my mothers death, my grandma (Wilma Maryland ) passed away. The last time I saw my dad was at her funeral, but ever since then he's disappeared from my life. The question rang in my head, "why now? How does he think it's okay to leave for 12 years then come back like nothing happened?!"  Then I see a man step into the doorway of the room. He had short black hair  with little silver hairs starting to appear around the top of his head, his eyes were bright green just like mine. "Hello Amanda", he said putting his hands in his pockets and looking in my direction. "Why are you here," I snap, anger beginning to ball up inside of me as if someone lit a match in my stomach. "Look, I know your mad but if you just-",                     -

I interrupted him~~

" DO YOU REALLY THINK ITS OKAY TO LEAVE FOR TWELVE YEARS THEN JUST MAGICALLY APPEAR AND EXPECT ME TO FORGIVE YOU?? YOU ABANDONED ME, AND WHY YOU ASK?! BECAUSE YOU WERE SCARED. YOU WERE A COWARD. YOU STEPPED DOWN FROM YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND LEFT ME TO FEND FOR MYSELF!!",
At that moment Grayson and Etham walk in.

As me and Grayson sit eating our food at one of the booths next to the cafeteria, I couldn't help but notice Gray  keep looking at me. He does that every time he has something on his mind. "What's wrong Grayson?", I ask putting down my fork and folding my hands, looking up at him. "About what went on at the park I"-

I interrupt him~

" I'm sorry for scaring you. I've just had a lot on my mind lately ."

Grayson:
"Like what?"

Ethan:
"Mom."

I begin to feel a lump in my throat as I try and hold back the tears I feel forming in my eyes.
