This is my story and my family's story. This is how we found out our life's been lies. If you continue then you will find out that you can go from being a normal teenager to being homeless and being chased. Don't think you're safe just because you live a normal life. That can change just as easily as ours did.

It was an average Monday; I was walking my 7 year old sister to her primary and then was going to head up to my high school. Alice skipped along at my side humming 'twinkle twinkle little star' she looked up at me and I smiled back at her. She was just so cute! Her honey brown hair was floating around her shoulders and her pink bow clips holding the sides away from her face. No wonder all my friends were jealous of her, she was so beautiful it made me want to cry! I was so lucky to have her as a little sister; we did a bunch of stuff together like: cooking, baking, painting, singing and ice skating. We reached the school gate and I gave her a hug, she waved at me as I walked away. On the way to school I thought about how boring today was going to be. First I had math when my teacher would spend the whole period explaining (in the most complicated way ever) the formula to work out the answer, in P.E we are doing cross country (which will kill me) through mud, mud and guess what? More mud! Then after break we have RME we are just watching a movie (that doesn't make any sense at all) and taking notes, then it English we are reading a book about some kid that disappears on a boat (note to self – never sail in a storm) then music learning how to pluck a string (we are in S4! ~hello? ~) after lunch we have double science (kill me now, I beg you) then home!

I always walk with Ash (my best friend, Male lives across the street) on my way home. We (obviously) pick up my baby sis on the way. Ash has to be the easiest person to talk to, no seriously, whatever's in my mind I can just say and he will listen and (if it's something I'm upset or mad about) will cheer me up with some funny remark. He has golden/hazel eyes that get lighter as it comes closer to his pupil and silky black hair. He is about 6'2 and quite slim and lean.

(Bit 'bout me – My name is April (Yeah I was born then).I have dark brown eyes and long slightly wavy brown hair. I have a faint tan and I have dark red lips, I'm about average height and weight for my age.

In my class Ash and I are pretty much the same as everyone else, except one little group of girls. People call them 'the Barbies' 'cause they cover themselves in fake tan, blusher, lip-stick, mascara, foundation, eye shadow and eyeliner. They pick on the weak and think that they are superior, they should think again, the only thing they are superior to is a sloth. I really don't understand some people, like their reason to pick on the weaker or the reason to dress themselves before P.E I mean come on! It's P.E! Your hair is gonna get messy! Who actually cares?!

I'm not that much of a 'girly girl' I love comics and gaming, I'm tougher than any boy in my class (and faster) I couldn't care less about clothes and makeup and shoes and I defiantly do not, repeat NOT care about nails! So you broke one, wow congrats you now have proof you did something today.

I arrived at school and was immediately face to face with Ash "Hey April, bit early for isn't it?" sarcasm leaked from his words, I gave a small laugh "Hi Ash, yeah I got homework due 2nd period tomorrow got to get going" I said while linking arms with him and leading him to the library. "Ah, the social homework I haven't done it either Ha there's a surprise! Want to do it together?" he asked grinning over at me, that stupid cheesy grin that made me feel secure. "Sure, but I'm not doing all the work. We have about 15 minutes before the bell goes" I say raising an eyebrow "sure thing boss" he said as he decides to put his arm on my shoulder instead of my linked into my arm, I reach up with my left hand and grab hold of his hand that lingered over my shoulder. "Ok so what was it about again? Some agencies manger that was like kidnapped right?" I asked actually being serious, we were learning about that. Ash and I logged onto a computer in the library and immediately started work......

At lunch Ash and I walked past some of the 'popular' girls in our year. (When I say popular I mean popular with the guys that have nothing but sick thoughts on their minds. Seriously, they are orange, dyed and painted. Their hair is in stupid hairstyles and have been dyed so much its falling out, they have so much fake tan on that they could be related to an orange and their make-up is piled on so thick that any natural skin or feature is completely covered. Their 'leader' Natasha sniggered at us. "hey guys" urgh, here we go..."isn't it such a shame that man candy is wasted on a freak like that?" sneered Natasha. I turned on my heel to face them, folded my arms and frowned. Natasha walked up to ash and I, her minions following behind her. She reached out and stroked ash's arm, if it wasn't for the school rule of immediate expulsion for fights I would've ripped off her arm by now. "I mean wouldn't you prefer to spend your time with us? We are way more fun and"- leaning in to whisper in his ear "flexible" ash's face resembled that of someone who just saw their parents doing it. I pulled her off of ash, turning to face her "yeah I think he wants to go through life without getting any STD's..." Ash pulled me away before Natasha and her mini army of Barbie dolls could open their mouths.

"Wow.... you sure showed them! Ha-ha did you see their faces I didn't think a Barbie could have an expression so hilarious!" I smiled and started to walk to English class with Ash thank God the day was nearly over...

After school Ash and I went to go pick up my little sister Alice she ,as usual, was waiting by the old oak tree and when she noticed us wading through the sea of parents and children smiled and ran towards us. I picked her up and spun her around before setting her back on the ground again. She smiled up at me then greeted ash with a tight hug, her height was up to his waist so she wrapped her arms around his top thigh. Ash smiled at her and ruffled her hair, she then took my hand and started leading us through the crowd towards the exit. Never did i guess that i wouldn't be able to do it again... that this was my last day of a normal life and that after tonight everything would be life or death...

Once we arrive home Alice ran up to her bedroom and Ash and i went to the back room to watch Tv. Ash sat in his usual spot in the corner and I lent against him, grabbing the remote i began flipping through the channels and settled for friends. This program has to be the best thing that has ever happened to me, honestly phoebe and her songs are just so funny! As she starts to sing smelly cat i join in, receiving a low chuckle from Ash. "what something wrong with my singing?" i ask, i glare playfully at him. "not really its just you and her sound like the cat!" says Ash as he jumps up and runs out the door, i chase after him, grabbing a pillow to hit him with on the way. The door to my room is open so i dart upstairs only to find an empty dark room. "Ash...?" i ask quietly, no reply. I walk silently over to the side of my bed but as i pass my wardrobe the doors fling open and Ash pounces on me.
